I may very well be wrong, but I think the difference is early versus late, with all but the very early cars having the badges. At least that's the way it seemed to me when car shopping-- IIRC, cars without mouse belts did not have the badge.

///Mike, sorry I see what you mean. Still, I see early cars with the square version and logo and late cars (a 92 for example that I just saw online) that has the flat version. Weird....

My car is about as early as you can get as far as US cars are concerned, and it has no badge on the cover.

That is my understanding too, based on the early parts books nomenclature.

    And this is 96896, a 93 GTS...

I wonder if this isn't "early vs late" as much as "mousetraps or not" regardless of market? Seems kind of an odd thing to change simply based upon seatbelts. haha...

My 90 348 originally had the emblem version, but I changed it out for the slant one when it was the only piece I could find as a suitable spare. The original one had lost all of its spring-y-ness, but ironically the slant-style worked wonderfully.

Good point, Daniel-- some of those later cars in the pics could have had theirs swapped out for various reasons.

I didn't meant to imply that the difference had anything to do with mouse belts, only that the really early non-mouse-belt cars I looked at had the unbadged radio cover.

It's entirely possible that the factory decided that they had a surplus of those unbadged covers later in the production run, and just decided to use them in new cars. It wouldn't be the first time that an anachronistic part found its way into a Ferrari. But in general the later cars did seem to have the badged radio covers.
