    Quick question guys.

    I bought a 11/2007 F430 and it has 11.000km i.e. 7500 miles.
I'm almost sure that its full stock, we swiss people are very limited in terms of mods cause if you do anything that is not officially homologated, you won't pass the technical inspection for the road and the car won't be road legal.

Long story short, i'm pretty sure I have the original headers that came out from factory.
I heard there is an MK2 headers version that is improved. I'd love to put the fabspeed ones but they are not road legal here.

question is: how can I find out if I have mk1 or mk2 headers? If you were in my shoes would you get new ferrari oem headers fitted today as a safety measure? (considering i sadly can't put fabspeed or capristo).

    Thank you!!

I recommend installing Capistro exhaust brackets and then only replace the headers if the current ones fail. At that time you could go to the Mk II. It’s my understanding you can tell the difference by part number. 212630 and 212631 were superseded by 247593 and 247594.

thank you! can I actually read the part number somewhere on my header?
How would I notice if they would fail?

    Thanks

Numbers are stamped onto the header heat shield. White dust (insulation being pushed out) around the heat shields or a ticking noise that is most noticeable on cold start are signs of a cracked header. A smoke test can confirm this. Capristo brackets get mixed reviews. Plenty of us have simply removed the rear lower exhaust brackets that are not required. These hold the exhaust rigid and cause header failure.
