Recently found behind my old tool box is this original unmolested low milage (no gulps only sips) Tom Shaughnessy coffee mug. This is a real time capsule and historic moment. This mug has it's original glazing, in Giallo fly with only one visible flaw, a factory paint bubble. The mug currently has nice patina and should polish up to her original luster. It's thought that Tom may have touched this cup while packaging it up for shipment , more research needed. " To discover one of these cups so incredibly well-preserved and untouched in my garage, truly excites me as an enthusiast." Would you consider selling her? I like the patine just the way it is. She looks like an honest mug. And as to rarity? How many could have been made?
Many years ago, at one of Tom Yangs first GTE gatherings, we arrived to find a box of tee shirts from Tom Shaughnessy... Brilliant! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have one of the yellow mugs in perfect original condition, but the handle broke off. Would make a very nice "parts" mug for someone restoring one.
I think I still have my shirt! As a reminder it was a 2+2 focused gathering, hence the shirt. It was the only Ferrari based shirt I wore while driving my car! Regards, Art S.
Re my original Tom S mug I should add I also bought a 365GT 2+2 # 11727 brokered by him at a fair price! And a exhaust system from Tom that he personally delivered to me in his own pickup truck ( on a rainy day
Damn, if I'd known there was a mug in the deal, perhaps I would have bought that GTC he had a decade-or-so back! I started looking again recently, and was bummed when I found that Tom's site was no longer active...
Who would have thought it was possible....I found another Tom S barn find. I learned a great deal from Tom about Ferrari and Italian exotics. It was a great experience. I enjoyed the trips to Concorso Italian when it was at Quail Lodge. I got to drive an original Iso Grifo A3C for my weekend car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
