    Several years ago, I attacked the dreaded slow window problem: replaced the window motors, rebuilt the "trans", new cables, new switches, traced all the wires and added a new gound, lubed the tracks, etc. Since then, the windows have "pulsed" when going up or down, i.e., the start out moving fast, then slow down, then go fast again. Both sides. This has gotten progressively worse. When I hook up a battery directly to the window motors, they fly up and down, but still show signs of pulsing. Any thoughts on this?

    Works great, but I would add a fuse to the 12V+ wire.

    I should have been more clear about the fuse. I ran the 12v wire from the door back to the original window fuse location but would occasionally blow them so I went to self-resetting circuit breakers - 20A. Want to have a window race?

    That pulsing is probably the window switch contacts getting hot. Note that adding a single relay such as in the available kits improves the speed situation but current is still flowing through the switch. It takes 2 relays to totally bypass the major heavy duty current from flowing through the switch.

    Mine does the same thing. Not sure why. I guess there is some sort of binding of the window as it goes up and down the track.

    FYI, I disassembled and lubed up the motor, gears, and pulleys on the driver side a couple months ago and it worked great but then slowed down again (not to the point before the work though). I did the pass side a couple weeks ago and just lubed the pulleys AND relieved a little tension on the cable and it went as fast as the drivers side after all the work. The tension seems to be a key factor as well as the angle of the glass. I can't remember, but raising or lowering the back part of the glass seemed to really help alot.

    Thanks for all you responses. After multilple tests, I think I have tracked down the main issue. I just sprayed the window tracks with silicone and the windows fly up and down. Subsequently, I ordered new window track runners. I'll post the final outcome.
