Has anyone seen the Red Tape On ANSA exhaust tips; Does it have their Logo on it?

I purchased an ANSA exhaust system and opted for their Stainless Steel Sport version, which has the same form as the original exhaust but is made of Stainless Steel. It appears nearly identical to the original except for the cosmetic tape that is used to finish off the Chrome tip forward area where it meets the black paint (see photo). The ANSA Sport has Silver tape with their logo on it. I recall seeing Red Tape on the original stock exhausts and thought the tape had the Logo on it. A helpful chatter here recommended that I just call ANSA in GA and ask for their Red Tape.

RED TAPE DEALING WITH ANSA - AN OPTION TO THE $3200.00 EXHAUST
Upon contacting ANSA and explaining what I wanted, I was informed that the CREST logo stickers for the exhaust tip sides would cost $20.00 + s&h and they would "throw in" the Red Tape for free (Sounds almost humorous, but I am not making his up). I explained that for the "many Thousands of Dollars" that I had spent on the exhaust system, wouldn't that cost probably have been paid for already? The ANSA rep politely countered with "well, we get many requests for free stickers and are frustrated seeing them end up on EBAY for profit, so had to start charging". I held myself back from mentioning that I only needed the Red Tape but thought that would not be the best way to meet my needs, so I agreed to buy the crest package, thinking the Red Tape was special.

SPECIAL RED TAPE LOOKS LIKE E TAPE - NO LOGO?
I gave them my credit card number and in a week I received an envelope with 5 ANSA stickers, the ANSA reps' business card with red electrical tape carefully wrapped around the card so as to be easy to remove,
    and a card charge slip for $29.00 ($20 + $9 s&h).
Unlike my ANSA Sport exhaust tip tape, the red tape I was sent has no logo on it. I thought I had remebered seeing ANSA red exhaust tape with their Logo on it at concours, but I could be wrong...

Before I contact ANSA on this, I'd like to see if anyone else has seen Red ANSA Tape with the ANSA Logo on it (or am I just imagining it is similar to the SPORT Tape)?
    Thanks

As far as I can recall, the red tape does not have any markings (at least my NOS Ansas didn't a decade ago). By the way, are insides of the tips painted orange on the stainless version?

    Regards,

    Art S.

PS. Can you PM me with details on your pipes, I need to replace mine and I'm looking at my options.

just use red pinstriping tape, in the appropriate width. You can buy it at any auto accessory shop.

I've bought NOS Ansa systems in the past too, nothing special about the red tape.

Just went out to the garage to check. Seems to be just basic red tape.

They sent me red tape and replacement logos....sorry, you got the Front Desk....

The Ferrari dealership rep is Paul Berry and he is a good guy to work with, and proud to service the Ferrari market.

They mostly cater to the current Import Crowd, so you do have to be sure you are going in the right department.
We were talking about it in Vintage as they are OEM to most 60s street cars like the Daytona.

The red tape is plain and the logo goes further out the snap.

Is use ANSA exclusively on my three 308GTBs.

Call the 800# and ask for Tommy McGuire. He mentioned that they still have the red tape as well as the "vintage" sticker for exact restorations.

I didn't get the front desk; rather it was Hal Bransten and Paul Berry - PLUS, I fully described what I wanted by saying "The Red ANSA logo tape" (see emails below).
I also didn't get a full roll as Hal claims, but a few wraps around Paul's business card.

I distinctly recall seeing ANSA logo tape on cars before, perhaps that was years ago and things have changed.
I have an ANSA stock on my USA and a Tubi Comp on my Euro Fcar - while the Tubi has superior sound and better performance, it would not be correct for show

Subject: Ansa Sport - Ferrari Dino needs red ANSA Logo Tape

    Hi Hal,

    Thank you for the email.

I purchased a wonderful Ansa Sport exhaust for my 1973 Ferrari Dino and am taking the opportunity during the winter to install it. This is a gorgeous exhaust and I purchased it for its "stock" factory appearance to keep the car original looking when showing at concours.

    The Sport is identical to Stock except for one aspect;
where the chrome tips start the Sport has silver "ANSA logo" tape while the Stock units have Red "ANSA logo" tape.

Is it possible to get the Red "ANSA logo" tape for my Four chrome tips so that the car will be factory correct for showing in concours?

    Sincerely,

    Scott

I really tried to be accurate in my descriprtion, boy do I feel foolish...

The only difference between "stock" and "sport" is the color of the tape? That seems odd. "Sport" usually implies less weight, fewer baffles, better flow, etc. Glad I ordered stock when I bought mine.

    Could be, and probably is.
I heard two of my favorite phrases "Stainless Steel" and "same form as stock" so was persuaded.

I'll know more when I mount it. I've been PM'ed that my stock ANSA unit could still be worth keeping on the shelves although it has rusty heat shields.

What is the correct width of the tape?

I replaced my exhaust with the standard (Euro) Ansa system some years ago and the tape was missing. I figured the tape got scraped up somewhere and someone figured it looked better without it than with damaged tape.

Parker Hall at Kilimanjaro Designs has the red tape, stickers, etc. Red electrical tape will work fine as well. The stickers burn off with use.

I measured my original ANSA tape width and got 3/8 inch. It could be, and probably is, 8 mm but that's only 1/4 mm (0.010 inch) less than 3/8 inch. I'm going to use red electrical tape also on my new 365 GT 2+2 Stainless Steel system from Stebro (after I paint it). Wish me luck.

Ansa used a few different width of red tape as standard, but the most common is 10mm wide (close to 3/8"). I just get 3m red vinyl tape, take a razor blade, set it on a 10mm high nut, and rotate the roll of tape against the blade so it cuts a 10mm wide strip.

The original exhaust on a 275 4-cam Nart would have been an Abarth system. That Ansa is an aftermarket replacement.

My experince is with my earlier 330 Colombo 12 is the stickers and tape don't burn off, the later 365GTC4s and 365GTB4s run so hot that the stickers burn, perhaps that is why the ANSAs from the factory for those cars do not come with the red tape, can not imagine how it would hold up at the temps those tips run when the car is driven hard.
