Given all the talk about stainless exhausts and the various manufacturers, who here prefers an original Ansa Sport (not a stock Ansa, but a real deal Ansa sport) compared to Tubi, X-ost, or the like? For me, you would have to take my Ansa Sport out of my cold dead limbs. That, or have a pack of wolves come after me or something equally rediculous. Nothing beats that original Ansa pipe tip rasp for me.

I do not prefer an Ansa exhaust. If it's made from mild steel - don't want it. I've had a few of them (on different Italian cars) and found that they rust quickly and are rather heavy. Anyway, that's my experience. Sound is very subjective so I won't comment on that aspect.

I installed an Ansa sport on my old Mondial 84 QV and loved it. The car just sounded terrific and it was a nice piece. The only problem I had was when I took the car on the track at Lime Rock. The exhaust heated up enough to burn off the paint on the outside of the body of the exhaust, and I saw smoke coming from the rear, thought the car was on fire. But it was just the paint. Otherwise, loved it.

Funny When I had an ansa sport on my GT4 at lime rack track day It melted the bottom of my bumper. Sounded good, but didnt last too long. My Stebro Is bullet proof and sounds like a big block with resonators removed. I paid about the same for stebro as the ansa at that time but the stebro is still on since 1997, The ansa lasted 3 or 4. FWIW

I have a Larini in my 77 and it sounds great. But then again it is all free flow so that helps.

My Ansa sport has been on the car since 1979 and is still in great shape (California car). As far as flow is concerned, wasn't the Ansa sport *the* original performance and weight upgrade for Ferrari's during this time? I had this exhaust off when performing the last service and had no problems doing so on my own as it weighs very little (less than 30lbs ish).

Since I was up way too late last night making myself familiar with the search function on F-chat and 308 exhausts I will broach this subject.

Since I finally have a 308 to play around with I will be in the market for a new exhaust soon. If I were to to buy an aftermarket piece I would buy the Ansa Sport. It seems a little bit cheaper than the other pieces and from what I heard it sounds just as good if not better. It also just seems like the 'right' piece for the car.

That being said, that through all my research last night I decided that my new 308 will be taking a trip to my local exhaust guy to install an equal length setup, with Magnoflows, and a cross pipe. This will be much, much, much, much (did I say much) cheaper than the aftermarket pieces available and if everything gleaned in exhaust theory over the last couple decades holds true to 308s, should be a superior performance piece as well. Maybe not quite as pretty, but I like the look of the muffler cover so who is going to see it anyway?
