Has anyone switched to an Antigravity in their Scud? Looking to make the move but antigravity cannot confirm the right battery size. They shared a F430 owner purchased an H6 but he had his mechanic install the battery so not sure if any additional modification was needed when he did. The H6 is just a touch longer than 34R which we believe was stock. Please confirm sizing if you made the switch. Thanks and Merry Christmas! Hi Eric, I just installed an Antigravity battery into my F430 Spider and it was a direct replacement. The cross bar holds it on some ridges on the side vs the top edge. This is what I used: Antigravity H6/Group-48 Lithium Car Battery - 60AH I also ordered the tracker module which is pretty cool… can see level and starter/alternator “health.” Aaron
Hey thanks for the confirmation Aaron! I need to verify that the F4 30 has the same battery space as the Scud. I have had an anti-gravity in my vantage for a couple years now and love it. Single easiest and cheapest way to take away weight! Agree that the tracker app is super easy and informative as well!, Did you purchase the lithium ion CTEK and convert the end to connect to the OEM Ferrari port? Hey Eric, my recollection was that there was a little bit of room on the sides of the OEM Scud battery before you run into the little hold down bolts, but not a lot. You might need to remove your battery door and just take a look to see how much actual space is in there. Let us know what you find out! I’d love to put an anti-gravity in mine someday.
To fit an H6 properly in a Scuderia, you need to replace the battery tray with one from a 430. As I recall, Scuds came with Optima red top batteries, with their unique footprint. This makes it so that regular rectangular batteries won’t fit unless you replace the tray. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I did get the CTEK and used a pigtail connecting to the OEM port I had made up in the past. Works great!
I looked up the parts diagrams and it looks like the battery trays are the same part numbers. So I was wrong. Sorry. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Thanks for all of the help. Looks like H6 it is! Looking forward to moving the Scud even further below 3,000lbs! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Agreed more a question of what fits in the Scud. Scott the owner and his team were not certain. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I don’t see why h6 wouldn’t, I ordered one for my new to me cs. I don’t know if it’s the same tray but I’ll post when it’s in
Image Unavailable, Please Login Posts like this say the red top optima is all that will fit the Scud as it came OEM and a unique shape. Group “34R” is what Scott also suggested as a possibility. That same post also mentions the scud brackets would need to be modified to fit other (H6). This is where their/my confusion comes from. To make it more confusing, parts sites show the same tray for the scud/F430…. Seems no one has put an Antigravity in the Scud yet to confirm fully. I will pull car down tomorrow for a drive and take some pics of battery and tray. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
OK it does in fact appear like the battery trays are the same part number. I have validated the same as @Need4Spd on scuderiacarparts. In fact all of the parts (bracket, tie downs, screws, etc) are the same for the F430 and the scud with the exception of the Scud having the additional pn 81260300 “battery mounting”. I have not been able to find what this part looks like online and I’m hopeful once removed it provides the same space as the regular F430. is anyone familiar with this part? Has anyone every confirmed that the battery size is identical to the F430? Looking to replace my battery with Antigravity but they are not sure if it will fit or not.
yes he is aware of what I went with amd how I modified to make it work. Happy to discuss offline! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
