I dropped my car off at a park and ride place near the airport Thurs-Monday b/c I went to Vegas. When I left on Thursday, I told the man at the desk I wanted him to note the mileage and sign off on it. IMO, I'd be an idiot to hand my keys over for 5 days and not have verification. Anyways, he seemed pretty ticked off that I didn't trust him (a total stranger) with my new car.

I got home yesterday and noticed TONS of ants in my car. I did not have this problem prior to dropping it off. I can't help but wonder if maybe this guy did something to attract them b/c he was pissed off. They are biting me all over! It's terrible. :(

    Two questions:
Should I call and make a complaint?
How should I get rid of them?

I was thinking of going to the grocery store and buying those little cardboard sticky/sugar traps and putting them in my backseat or small Raid ant traps, but I don't want my car to smell and I'd rather not die from the fumes. Any suggestions?

Vacuum out all the ants you can find and go through the car very thoroughly for any food, whether you dropped it or the parking guy planted it. Once the food disappears, they'll vanish. Every Spring we have a brief ant invasion--they come through gaps in the house and are impossible to prevent. But we vacuum them up and make sure all food, crumbs, etc. are cleaned up and they go away pretty quickly. 2 kids + 2 dogs + me = ant nirvana, but we stay on top of it:)

Ok this happened to me before.

Bug bomb/fogger usually does the trick. You just won't be able to use your car for about a day.

    1) don't drop your car off somewhere that you have to give them the keys
    2) if you have to (i.e. at the dealer for service, valet-only situations, etc), take a pic of the odometer with your cell when you drop the car off. it's more discrete and should have a time/date stamp on it.

as for the ants, Gilles27 is correct. shop vac is your friend :D
