does anyone know if I put on the level 3 will it pass inspection...im guessing not cause of the noise but any advice would be appreciated. If not, I will wait till I inspect it and then put it on.

I gotta tell you, I have the Capristo level 2's with Hyperflows and I can't imagine it being any louder. As it is, the neighbors hate me and my wife can hear me coming home from half a mile down the street! However, the sound is magical to me....

just wait until the cats and new new headers arrive. If I could only get a recommendations for the cats that will be my next purchase. Ill get the headers when the stock ones crack....so....hyperflows?

    Parikh,

You may want to wait for the cats. The level 3 Capristo sounds really good by itself. Also I have heard of O2 engine sensor issues with the SD2 cars and aftermarket cats. Another option is to wire the bypass valve in the open position - pretty easy to do. A friend of mine has done this and he says he has not had any problems and then no cat issues. I would be interested in anyone else's thoughts.

Steve, thanks for the advice. I am def going to put the exhaust on only for now. Cats will wait until the late winter major. Also, I didn't want the cats for the sound but more so for the extra HP and better cooling/airflow of the engine and more importantly the headers. What do you think?

Others may want to give their input, but as I recall there have not been any documented significant increases in HP with the aftermarket products. Certainly, reducing temps is reasonable. However, I have been driving my car all summer in our 100 degree heat and have not had any issues with temps. Just my 2 lire.

cap stage 3 is intense, but I live in San Francisco (tree-hugging, baby-lovin' central) and I have only had a couple of older people look at me in disgust. Everyone else thinks its just plain cool. If you like a Ferrari sound, then this is it. I also have Hyp flow, with stock headers(replacing upcoming major), and both exhaust and cats were installed by the previous owner, so I have no frame of reference for HP gains, but others have said it won't do anything. That being said, I can't imagine the car with any other sound, so I highly recommend the Cap 3!

Here in Georgia they only check OBD2 readings. Remember that once you install exhaust which requires shutting off battery you have to drive the car for a while before ecu resets and readings can be made again. My car passed with no issues.
