When you submit a reply scroll down to "additional options" and click on "manage attachments". Then follow the instructions and browse to your file. There is no cost. Congrats on your new car. I'm looking for one as well.

    Chett,

I'm in Orange County if you want to get in contact with me, PM me.

I also picked up a new 612 about 1-month ago. Like you, I'm trying to school myself on this car and getting used to driving it.

There are great people here with TONS of knowledge on these cars.

Doug- Looks like your car did in the not too distant past, except yours is an HGTS.

    Nice looking car!

I see you have external power connected-- I can't overstate the importance of that if you let the car sit for several days or more.

I’ve been plugging an extension cord for the CTEK3300 battery charger in at night and un-plugging in the morning for certain reasons, hopefully this is enough to keep the batter toped off? The car sits durring the week as I drive it on the weekends.

    Best regards

That should be fine. That is what I do with my car as well.

I've also heard a rumor that locking the car puts it into a lower power drain mode, but I've never seen a confirmation of that fact.

You can easily let it sit for several days and it will be fine, but I'd be careful about going much beyond that. These cars are very sensitive to low voltage, and even though it will start, you can end up with all sorts of false warnings and issues.

Nothing breaking the belt line of the car makes it look more sleek.

I have had mine for 18 months, sometimes it sits unplugged for well over a week - no issues whatsoever :)

It’s funny that you say that. I agree you too. My brother owns a 355 said that there a place in the south bay, CA that adds the shields however, I’m not interested in doing it now.

    Best regards,

The last owner had BH Ferrari install the charger because the battery went dead a couple of months ago.
Since the car came with it, might as well use it and take the advice of the other 612’ers that use them too.

    Best regards,
    Chett. L

Agree - mine also came from BH and has a built in charger ...

The best thing for a 612 is driving it, no offense to the guys who put a few thousand miles a year on their car but it is the worst thing you can do to a car is let it sit!
