Any advice on finding a UT McLaren F1 LM?

    I am officially addicted to ebay & collecting. Let me explain. My brother bought me an xbox 360 for Christmas (nice brother...and all I got him was a sweatshirt that was too small). He also bought me Project Gotham Racing 3. They have an assorted # of great cars, including Ferrari F50GT, McLaren F1 LM and Diablo GTR. After driving the McLaren F1 LM, I flashed back to the spring of 2001. I was coming back from a client meeting and I stopped in at Exoticar Models in NYC on Park Ave. I noticed the UT model of the McLaren F1 LM in papaya orange. I wanted to get it but didn't want to lug it back to work. I figured I would just order it from home. Needless to say, I forgot about the model.

    Back to the present (or a couple of weeks ago) with my interest newly renewed by PGR3, I set out to purchase the model of my ultimate dream car. I have come to find out that UT no longer exists and that BMW won't let the McLaren F1 be licensed anymore. The prices obviously went through the roof. I have purchased one UT Lemans 1/18 scale model (the 1995 LM winning #59 GTR). I have also picked up an AUTOart 1/18 Diablo GTR in black (I read that AUTOart no longer makes them and Hot Wheels holds the license). These purchases have not quenched my desire for a UT McLaren F1 LM (in papaya orange of course). My wife thinks I am a "sicko".

    Does anyone have a connection or any advice? I just lost an ebay auction on a UK car. It became ridiculous when the seller wanted 25 GBP just for shipping. The car didn't go for a bad price but when shipping is included, I am hesitant to pay $150+. I paid $83 on the other McLaren and $70 for Diablo GTR, both including shipping.

    25GBP shipping cost is reasonable from UK, UK shipping cost is always expensvie, but the most expensive S/H is from Canada.....

    Wow...that is an amazing collection!!!! Are they all UT/Minichamps? Is that the entire collection? Do you have individual pics? How did you come about getting them?

    I am not a newbie...I did my research first. The most current thread was 9 months old. I wanted to see if anyone here would consider parting with one. I would even be willing to trade/negotiate a UT F355 Spider red/black.

    These mclarens are being taken photos last year, now, I have a few more. I am still looking for a 2nd version F1 LM orange, There were 3 types, 1st version, blue box with double wings, (I got that), and 3rd version (UT Mclaren box) with single wing.

    Some more I got are a black Locitite Longtail, Silver GTR Long tail, Gulf #24 minichamps box, etc.

    My other major collection is 1/18 F355s (UT/HW), I have about 50 of them.

    It is a good one, I want to keep one in storage and one for showing... that's why I always buy cars in a pair.... especially Mclaren and F355s
