I have the opportunity to get a RUF CTR Porsche from 1989 with 120.000 km (75.000 mls) with a very clean history from a trusted seller.

I´m not that much fascinated by Porsches and normally I would prefer a convertible or targa, but this seems to be a unique chance to get a 964 in good condition at a reasonable price. And 420 hp is a word.

Any advice in terms of durability of the engine, driveability etc. ?

    TIA :)

Since it's a RUF, all the associated inherent problems with the 964 is non-existent..therefore my advice is to get it PPI'd and BUY IT !!!

I did not know that there were any 964-model Ruf CTR's. The original "Yellow Bird" CTR was based on the Carrera 3.2 and the CTR 2 was based on the 993. IIRC the CTR was rated at 469hp.

You are correct .. .. the information I got from the nephew of the seller was incorrect. It´s a 1988 BTR 3.4 .. .. so there is no 964 bodyshell. I will probably not buy it .. .. thanks for your input !
