    Hi,

I would like to go to the F1 race at Monza on September 10th. Should I just buy the tickets off of the Formula 1 site? What about hotels, any suggestions?

How far is Milan from the track?

Please excuse my ignorance, I haven't been to Europe in over 20 years. And I have never been to an F1 race. I am really looking forward to this trip.

    Thanks in advance.

We stayed in the Four Season in Milan, which is wonderful, but expensive. I would say that it's probably booked up, but give them a call. Ticket wise, I buy everything via www.gpt.at - great service and great seats. And well done on choosing Monza - it's the best atmosphere of them all.

Buy your tickets on the Monza site in the previous post. Not an easy track to walk around, so I preferred a grandstand at the S/F line

I stayed in a wonderful converted to a hotel monestary in Como. The drive took me 45 minutes plus each day, but the hotel's location was really nice. Milan is closer, I think there is also a train to the track. If you drive, do not park inside the track on race day, as the pedestrian traffic leaving will prevent you from exiting quickly. Took me two hours.

Not sure if they still do this, but Friday and Saturday tickets were sold by individuals at the gates. When they ran out, that was it. There was no ticket office as such. Check out the old Monza banking on one of these days.

Enjoy. I hope to go back in 2007.
