    Hey guys,

I'm furious! I just got nabbed for doing 70 in a 55 zone on I-75 here in Cincinnati tonight. Absolutely ridiculous! And to boot, I was nailed by a Lockland cop, and for those of you here in Cincinnati, I'm sure you'd agree with me that there are FAR more important things a Lockland cop should be doing with his time than busting guys for going 70mph on the highway...(i.e. taking care of crack dealers and prostitutes!!!)

I wasn't in the Ferrari but in my daily driver 300,000 mile diesel Mercedes which is a fairly inconspicuous, stodgy looking chariot if I do say so myself. It is Valentine One equipped however and the V1 did give me warning but I thought there was NO way he was going to come after me for doing 70 (with the general flow of traffic). And just to cap the whole ordeal off, when he handed me back the ticket book for me to sign it, I looked it over and noticed that he had marked "no proof of financial responsibility shown", and the S.O.B. hadn't even asked me for my insurance info! Anyways, I called him out on it and he corrected the mistake after I gave him my insurance card. But I think it was one of those sneaky ways the local gov't tries to f**k people and therefore get more $$ out of us. Because in some states like Ohio you can get into BIIIG trouble if you don't have insurance (fines, license suspension, more fines, etc....did I mention fines?). And that's exactly why I've always had my insurance payments automatically deducted from my checking account so I'm always positive it's paid and current. I've known people who fell into that boat with no insurance and from what they've told me, the reporcussions are hell.

Anyways, to my question....I'm obviously going to try to do something about this ticket in court (at least have the points knocked off), because I know all they care about is their money. So if there are any lawyers on the board, anyone care to take this case. Should be gravy work for you fellows in the brotherhood.

    Cheers,
    Aaron

Why are you furious? You admitted you were speeding and got caught. You rolled the dice and lost. Just be a man, suck it up and pay the fine. You act like this is all someone elses fault. If you don't want a ticket, don't speed. If you do speed and get caught, don't *****.

What I'm furious about is that I was singled out in a large group of traffic who was all travelling at 70mph which I am sure anyone here in Cincinnati would agree is a plenty reasonable safe speed on the highway in this area. Their 55mph limit is clearly a revenue generator. Hell, people fly through this particular area at 80+ all day long! I mean c'mon guys, 70 in a 55 on a three lane highway???? That's just a ridiculous ticket. I could understand if I were doing 80 through there but jeezus........

And I'm not worried about paying the $106 fine, just the points on my license, which are going to contribute to an insurance rate spike for travelling on the freeway at a reasonable, safe speed!!!

Sorry for bringing this up from “the grave”, but I have to admin – Lockland cops do suck! Not sure, what is up with them, but two of my speeding tickets are because of Lockland PD.
