Gents, Wanted to check with some of you out in the Pacific NW as I'm having a bit of difficulty in getting a recently purchased Ferrari picked up in Bellevue, WA and brought to Ohio. I've put in for quotes with the "big three" (Intercity, Horseless Carriage and Reliable Carriers) but Intercity is saying "several weeks" before pickup, Horseless say they don't go to Washington and Reliable wants $3,000 to do it--a full thousand more than Intercity, and they can't even guarantee a quicker pick up. So, it seems that a lot of these carriers don't want to head to the Pacific NW hence I'm wondering if any of you up there can offer me a recommendation of someone who might be based in that area who will go cross country. Thanks! Aaron Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Try Cyndy at Sweet Logistics. Broker and not a carrier. I've read all the broker vs. carrier stories here and elsewhere. I wanted my 360 shipped from CO to WA and ran into the same problem as you - not many carriers come into PNW. Overall, was happy with Cyndy's service. Wasnt perfect when it came to communications, billing, etc., However the most important part was, the trailer and the driver were very good and car reached safely without any issues. FWIW, I think the carrier was United Lines (or something like that) Good luck!
One of the semi local FChaters has used and independent named Casey who does cross country runs. I'll PM you his number.
I’ll second what Brian said; wait for Intercity. They picked my car up much quicker that their initial estimate. And they are worth the wait!
Appreciate all of the recommendations and references. I will give Casey a call and see what he says but otherwise will probably just wait for intercity to get the car as I have experience with them in the past and they have always been good. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I contacted both intercity & horseless carriage to ship my 360 from WA to NC. Both declined saying they don’t drive that route. I now have a call out to reliable. I am more inclined to contact a carrier over a broker. While a broker will quote a lower price, your at the mercy of the contract driver showing up.
