Would love to ship the Challenge Stradale from Kaua'i to the Big Island to enjoy it on the roads in 2024 with the wife while visiting some family, but would also love to meet at a big nice car event or show during. Just curious. Oahu too. Shoots, even Maui. I actually have relatives on every island, but I figure Hawaii, Maui, and Oahu are the only real decent islands for meets and drives.

You are not going to enjoy many roads on the BI unless you like driving 30 MPH in your Ferrari. There are a few owners here, (my neighbor has a black Testarossa), but the best show on the island is when the Saudi guy arrives with 5 or 6 friends for a drive. They passed me and a friend on a straight stretch near Ocean View last year. I've never heard of a car show on the Big Island.

I absolutely LOVE the roads on the big island! I live on Kaua'i and Texas, so with the car mostly on Kaua'i, Hawai'i would be a huge improvement. Haha.

    Thanks

Sorry..........I was assuming the only thing fun about driving Saddle Road at night in a Ferrari, would be high speeds. ...........which are quite frowned upon on the Big Island..........especially if you are an out of state visitor!!!

Oh. No, I would be having fun even going the speed limit. Such a wonderful road!! Also, if it even mattered to someone, I'm part Hawaiian, can actually speak 'olelo Hawai'i, and am not an out of state visitor. Maybe I get a free pass to speed then? Haha. Joking!

Just drove down from Hawi to Waimea, then in to Kailua Kona. (In a rental Chevy.) I kept thinking how much fun it would be in my 360. It is a beautiful place, and a beautiful road. And, no, I don’t think you would need to speed to have fun. It’s a great road.

I live in Hawi. The Big Island has the most Ferrari-friendly roads I've encountered in Hawaii.
    Hawi to Kawaihae
Hawi to Waimea mountain road is stupendous.
And the previously mentioned Saddle Road are my favorites.

What’s the deal with service/mechanics on big island (and Maui if you have any insight)? I want to make the move, and it sounds like some of you do it… would bringing a 296 end up in tears?

Anywhere but Oahu — yep, pretty much in tears.

Honolulu would be fine. But not Maui or the Big Island.

A shame. Understandable, but a shame.

On the Big Island, minor stuff like oil changes and codes that a Launch X431 can diagnose are no problem for a couple shops in Kona. Otherwise, you are barging your car to Velocity in Honolulu. I would not bring an ODB2 Ferrari here (I made that mistake). I had a manual 599 with ECU problems that not even Velocity could sort out. So bring your vintage 250 or F40 to the Big Island and send me a PM so we can go out to dinner.

Velocity is awful. Would be better to just work on your own car or ship it to the mainland if it's something you don't want to do. It's not a big deal.

When I bring my manual CS to Hawai'i from Kaua'i for some fun drives, I'll have to meet up with you too! What do you have there?
