Any consignment recommendations in Chicagoland?

    I live in the West suburbs of Chicago near Naperville. I have an ad on FerrariAds for my car but not a lot of activity. I was thinking of consigning it. I have read some threads on here as far as fees. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to start looking for a place to consign the vehicle? Also can you give me some advice on what to look for and ask when "interviewing" where to consign my car. I obviously want to get terms in writing, should I be willing to pay any upfront costs? insurance coverage while "they" have the car. If priced right how long should I expect to sell the car?

    Patrick, did you move to Chicago from STL? If so, we met at a Porsche club track day about a year ago.

    anyway, can you provide a link to the ad? do you have it advertised elsewhere (craigslist, ebay, etc)? I've found that by the time you consign, have it sit around for months on end, and then pay the consignment fees you are slightly ahead of trade-in value.

    I had a great experience with CMC. I had a very unique Mercedes that they took on consignment for me so I could get the money I needed to purchase the Ferrari they had in stock. They always have alot of cool inventory and have established their place in the exotic car industry. Very friendly atmosphere not stuffy with the "don't you dare touch that" look on their faces when you're wandering through the showroom.

    I would recommend Dave Alexander with Continental. He can be reached at 877-600-2894.

    I have known Dave for many years. He is honest and he can get you the most money when selling your exotic.

    Oh, and unlike some of the other comments on this thread, I do not work at or have any connection to the dealership being recommended. Just a satisfied customer.
