FerrariLord--your Doc is partially right, partially wrong. Proactive contains Benzoyl Perozide (the same ingredient as in Oxy 5), Sulfur, and other compounds. Since it is non-presciption, the concentration of the actives is lower than with prescription products. The last time I looked at an ingredient label (which was a while ago) one of the ProActive products contained salicylic acid, another pore unclogger.

I totally agree that it has amazing marketing and hype. That said, it can work. Most presciption products are stronger (which means that they can both do more, but also cause more irritation, more problems, etc.).

Yea, he said the benzoyl peroxide doesn't do much unless you combine it with clydamycine, which makes it a new compound and 100 times more powerful. I didn't know Proactive had sallicylic acid in it too, the ones I got all just had Benzoyl on the label. Nonetheless, it didn't work for me.
