One of my friends wants to sell his 2000 360 Modena F1 Euro model at good price. Should I buy it? Is there any thing different than US model? Is it cheaper than US model?

    Please help here...Thanks in advance.

Previously the Euro model had more BHP and less safety features. Today there is no difference. However, the Euro models typically are of less value. If you plan on a resale soon that may make a difference.

What's a good price? Resale is always going to be an issue especially if there are an assortment of US cars available. IOW price will have to be significantly lower to motivate someone.

I'd shoot for under a hundred. If you can get it for that you could drive it for a year and almost get your money out of it.

It's not just whether the selling price is a "good" price or not - it depends upon what the service/maintenance records look like. Make sure cam variators have been replaced (there is a service bulletin for this problem for '99 and '00 models - check S/N)...if not, then you will need to go ahead and have the timing belt changed also. Very common to also have the water pump rebuilt at the same time. I assume you will have a PPI performed check everything out including brake wear, clutch % remaining etc. These items can make a difference in $10k in basic service alone plus any other stuff that can show up in the PPI.

There is definitely a LOT of helpful info in the archives on euro 360's specifically. Well worth the time to research.

    Good luck!

Speed Racerette is right. On a 2000 you will need to replace the cam variators, spendy proposition. Ferrari North America will not pay a dealer to do it on a gray market car.
