    So, I recently discovered my new found love for Dream Theater.


    Anyone else in here?

    I have been exposed to DT a lot thanks to my friend and his brother.

    The brother saw three concerts this summer when they toured with Iron Maiden.

    We'll listen to them some time and I ask my friend "Are we still on the same song??" It's great when a song that lasts three minutes is "brief" for a band.

    Cool band, definitely a "musician's band."


    What do you think about Portnoy leaving?

    Portnoy was IMO, the biggest part of that band. Obviously Petrucci is a big part, but Portnoy is what did it for me.

    His ridiculous blasts and heavy as hell bass kicks are intoxicatiing :eek:

    I think it's cool that he's touring with Avenged Sevenfold but, I think that somehow influenced him to leave. Being that he was one of the Rev's biggest influences, that's awesome.

    I haven't seen them on tour before. I first listened to Forsaken a few weeks ago and immediately fell in love.

    HUGE fan here, been so for many years......

    RE: Portnoy, He started the band and simply replacing the best rock drummer there is a tall task.
