First off, Hi,I'm a newb to the forum. Been lurking for a while with very few posts. I'm in the position of trying to decide what to upgrade to from my Boxster S. Current temptation are 360, 360 Spider, 550, Lambo Gallardo, 911 Turbo (and probably more I have yet to think of).

In any case, back to the post at hand. I was reading Road & Track and noticed an ad for this company. Their web site is at http://www2.wcdriving.com and for a fee, they set you up to drive : F430, Gallardo, Ford GT, Porsche GT3, Aston Vantage, and Noble M400. Has anyone done this, or known anyone who has? Of the cars that I've listed above,I have not driven in any of them. I have some friends with 360s but have not as of yet taken rides in them (usually losing out to whatever hot girl is in the group :) ). I'd like to drive a 360 and a Gallardo at least, but without knowing for sure if I want to buy either I be hesitant to take up a salesperson's time. THoughts?

I've seen reviews from people who did a similar event, and they said it was a lot of fun.

However, the best experience I've read about was by a guy who did one of these events:

    http://www.supercarlife.com/

He got to drive all the cars on the track, and was allowed to go as fast as he was capable of going. It sounded like a lot more fun than the street events, but of course it's four times the price too.

I can't remember where I saw his writeup, but if I find it I'll post the link.

My company has worked with WCD and I know the President quite well (they actually rented our F430 this past week when theirs has a problem) -- They invited me and my partner to their event in Las Vegas. They're a great group, very professional, and if they come to your town, it's definitely a worthwhile experience (I think it's about $1250 and that includes the SLR).

We were one of the pioneers of the "Tour" business and run our own event called the Dream Car Tour ($895) with many of the same cars. We're only in NY & South Florida, but we run events twice a month so scheduling should be easy for most. Site is:

    www.dreamcartour.com

Lastly, I think the experience of driving on the track (Supercar Life) is definitely fun, but $5000 is such a different ballpark price-wise that most are priced out of the market. Also the dangers of pushing these cars on the track is much, much greater, so keep that in mind.

here is a pic of me in their 430 and gallardo last year. actually got the gallardo up to 150. i would def do it. last year was their first year. it was cheap and poorly chaperoned. they have raised the price and i assume they will have learned to keep the sillyness down. last year you could drive the cars alone or with a freind. this was a recipe for thrashing. not that i'm complaining. i was ready to do it again this year, but they pulled the 599 so i changed my mind. i would definetly recommend it. where else is someone going to let you drive these cars?

I did it last year and it was great. I drove the F430, Gallardo, Maser spyder cambio, Bentley GT, Porsche 4S, and Vette Z-06. We had a lead car that we could not pass so we all just laid back till it got far ahead and then we all laid on it. A real kick. And I might add they were all great driving cars (the Maser is alot faster than you might think) even the Bentley GT but if I could pick one to take home it would be the F430 (WOW!!). Do it I don't think you'll regret it.
