Montana has some of the best driving roads in the country. Unfortunately windshields have a short lifespan here. Any first hand experience with ClearPlex or other protective films?

I had it put on my 328's windshield when I first got it. Relatively cheap incremental cost, considering I was also clear-wrapping the entire front end and the lower half of the sides all the way to the back. I've watched rocks kicked up by semi-trailer rigs bounce off with just a little marring to the plastic layer. It's been on for 3 years / 21,000 miles.

Whether you're getting a brand new car or a new-to-you one, I highly recommend clear plex.

Love mine. Metropolitan in Bellevue, WA installed it 4 years ago and 25k KM later it is still nice and clear.

    Jeff and Scott,
Thanks for the feedback. Can you recommend an installer? Is this something that can be done DIY? I expect to be in the SEA area this summer to participate in some of NW region's activities/cruises and would like to get it installed then.

Never mind the DIY question. I just watched an installation video and decided to leave it to the professionals.

I installed clearplex on all my Ferraris and for a few friends' Ferraris, Porsche, McLaren and lambo. It saves the cracks and chips on the windshield and it is highly recommended.

    Metropolitan.
The Clearplex material is proprietary and very few shops can do it

Assuming you're in Montana as your tag says, there is an installer/dealer in both Bozeman and Billings. See Find a Dealer/Installer - ClearPlex.

I just called a local dealer for ClearPlex and she said they stopped carrying it because it was turning yellow and cloudy. She said she will speak to their COO and see if they would be willing to install it for me without warranty. Anyone else had this experience? I live near Harrisburg so called the dealer closest to me. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
