I made at least a dozen short movies with the old Movie Maker without problems. I now have the newest version Windows Live Movie Maker. I'm simply taking a bunch of clips catching fish and putting a short title page before each short clip. On the storyboard everything appears fine, but the software is getting confused what video goes with the clip. I trimmed everything fine, but sometimes in preview and then the generated movie it is playing video I trashed and not the intended clip, but of course it keeps the time the same. When it does this sometimes I can just stop the preview, click within that video clip and then it plays the proper one. The generated movie is never correct though just like it never gets everything 100% correct previewing from the beginning. Also strange that there is no pattern on which short clips it gets confused, almost changes each time you preview. Anyone experience this before and how to fix? FYI I have finally purchased the entire suite of Adobe Design CS5. To this point I only use PhotoShop and DreamWeaver, are any of those other dozen software packages that came with the suite for video editing? Thank you.
I know elements 8 has a good editing suite. http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/premiere-elements-review.html
I'm not sure which software is included with the Design Collection, but Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects are what you're looking for. Moreso probably Premiere Pro. I haven't tried the new Movie Maker so I can't help you there unfortunately.
I think you need Premiere for editing...a bit over$$$ for home use prolly. Try the demo of this...it works well enough. http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector/overview_en_US.html
