I have seen some ferrari and lamborghini around my town. I spotted some Ferrari (red 360, 348) near by Coquiltlam Centre, 1 red countach, and 1 Yello Gallardo in front of my house (Westwood plaeteau) I just wondering who own those super cars.... -Sorry my English sux as hell.. cuz english is my second laguage ;(-
guilty - 348 on the Plateau. that's some good spotting out here, I see lots of German sedans, but not many real sports cars.
I have seen the Yellow Gallardo too, the guy also owns an H2 and a Corvette; He's got a lot of tattoos so u should be able to guess what he does for a living!!!!
Do you know this for a fact? I hate people who stereotype everyone like this. If he is what you say he is, Im sure he likes the fact that this is posted on here. just my o2
I've seen some 2 Corvette in BestBuy parking lot. and... Skyline GT-T32.. lots super cars in these days
naw - I'm super easy to impress, and a Skyline would definitely do it. After seeing only Civics and Minivans - anything is a break up here. At least Peter gets superstretch Explorers and hot rods out in Langley.
It's a shame I couldn't make to the Car show on Sunday, how was it btw? I am not trying to pre-judge but with our Tax system it's very hard to be able to afford such cars, unless you can find a way to get around it... I used to live in West Van. and one of our neighbors got arrested for a huge grow-op and he happened to have a F430 and an H2... You can't help but wonder what these ppl do for a living when they own multiple homes, cars and boats and yet seem to be on vacation most of the time...
Yep, that's what the cowboys drive out here. That Skyline was at the show yesterday. I didn't get a chance to get a closer look though. Not the first time an "exotic" Japanese car makes an appearance in Vancouver. A while ago, someone was selling in the Buy & Sell, a Toyota Sera (gullwing showcar turned into Japan-only production car).
Hmm, I look like I'm on holidays most of the time (Todd can attest to that), but maybe that's why I'm not a partial millionaire. I'd think the vast majority of "wealthy" are legit, the non-legit guys tend to run into long-term trouble in the long-haul. You'd be surprised how many people are producing good cash flow while keeping low profile in Vancouver. Most are in private business but still enough employed guys out there drawing six figure sallaries. Every rental or lease building has someone between the tennants and the bank. Every building going up requires dozens of companies producing big revenue. Every tourist/cruise-ship is spinning off millions of dollars. It's all legit. Did you check out the sallaries of the top exec's in Vancouver - and they're just "the hired help". The suppliers, finance groups, founders, and primary shareholders will make many multiples of that.
But are they all 6' 4" with giant tattoos all over their arms and have spikey hair... My parents are millionares too but they made their money by working hard and investing and saving over a period of 20 yrs...I am sure you can become an overnight success at a young age if you are really smart but I doubt that you would buy so many expensive cars, where the insurance alone can support a family for a year! BTW, can I ask what do u do for a living?
You're seeing the flashy in-your-face guys, who want to be seen. No surprise there. Lots of millionaire folks in town drive Explorers and low-end MB's (including a couple guys I know clearing well over $1M/month each). My wife calls one of them "the professor" because of his low key appearance. I'd bet your folks are similiar. There's also the kids who live off of Daddy's Money - I've met enough of those in town, just a very high priced version of the "Gold Collar" kids in the other thread. $40k/month for "allowance" and up, - it tends not to produce the desired behaviour (as if the kids care). It's not "real". Some of those kids, who hit it rich on their own - and their are some of those too, will likely boom/bust cycle a few times. It takes leverage and a few well thought out gambles to explode net worth like that. That russion dude back east who bought the F1 team comes to mind - apparently over a $B in net worth and in his early 30s. He hasn't hit the downside yet, may never, but he certainly made some big gambles along the way. Me? My wife and I have a small computer consulting practice, and have been at it for 11 years now. We're a conservative operation, No debt, reasonable cash flow, strong reputation, and awesome customer's and consultants. Our website's nothing great but does have some of my background on it (see profile). For me, it's about balance, I want to know my kids when they're young, keep my wife around for when I'm old, and have the mortgage paid off one day. Todd - what's that four letter word you used? started with a "w" I think...? Some of those 6'4" tatoo dudes could be legit too (as I think Todd was saying below), it's not local but the Hell's Kitchen guy on "The Club" wasn't mainstream but likely can afford a few toys without worry, and was at least partially legit. More and more businesses are rewarding the folks on the edge. How much is Biff Naked worth - she's got the tat's, just not the size nor the spiked hair. How much is her record label worth? (www.bodogmusic.com) and it's local. Certainly enough to buy flashy cars if they cared. But who needs cars when living/playing/working downtown. A friend has a couple H2's and a C-GT, looks scraggly and unemployed, but is also legit. Don't think he has any tattoo's though. He's taken some decent sized gambles with businesses and has cycled a few times.
'04 911 Turbo S going over 120 Km/hr on Queensborough bridge in New West. today morning... Driver was a grandpa with his dog...
Saw a blonde chick driving a Carrera S at the intersection of Pinetree and Guilford yesterday afternoon. It sounded like she didn't know how to change gears!!!
cool - bonus points if it's another young lady! West side of the Plateau I'm guessing?.... Hopefully they didn't get caught in the Guildford repaving.
You should stick to loving Ferrari's...........as far as I know Porsche never made a Turbo Cab in 98. Just my 2cents!
