Hi, I am planning to move from Southern California to the area of Woodlands. I wonder if there are many high end exotics in the area, especially Ferraris.?
I moved from North Houston to Southern California in 2003, and you are going to wrong way. I lived in Houston for 18 years and I saw 2 Ferrari's, a 550 Maranello and a 456 GTA. Houston roads suck for Ferrari's, and there isn't as much money there. I see really nice exotic cars almost daily here in Southern California. Move back if you can!
Most of your Ferrari are going to be seen around the Uptown/Midtown area of Houston, and in the Woodlands. There's been a few Lamborghini's spotted there too.
Actually, a good number of the active Ferraris are located on the north side of town. I say active because, while there are a number of cars in the greater Houston area, many of our local owners have a major thing about privacy. In their defense, Ferraris are not as accepted here as they are in Southern Cal. It is relatively uncool amoung the older set to drive cars in public that are worth more than most people make in 3 to 4 years. That said, however, the local FCA chapter is very active, and we have at least one function a month. If you're interested, I can put you in touch with Grady Owens who is the President. Welcome aboard, Dale
Thanks for the valuable info. I will be moving there in 6 months or so. When I get there , I will email you. I don't think everyone accepts Ferraris and other high ends even in Southern Calif. I had a Gallardo and felt very awkward driving it in certain parts of town. Anyway, I am glad you gave me some heads up....
www.fca-houston.org We typically have a spirited drive before each of the breakfast events on the "sucky roads'.
I want to know if anyone of you go to track days in Houston area. Where are some of the nicer race tracks? Sorry , I will be new in town.
C'mon DOWN! LOL! Yea, real "sucky roads" stay away.......ROTFLMAO!!!!! That drive out ot Bluebonnet Horse farm is terrible! And the restaurant in Cat Springs is YUCK!!!!! Where is Racoon Bend, anyway??????? The closest track is TWS in College Station but a new track south of Houston is underway....then there's the WW2 Blimp Base...........LOTS of forgotten concrete in those weeds, over by Chocolate Bayou. Nope, nothing at all going on down here....... ttyl.........
