I'm a born-and-raised Montrealer, recently moved to Israel. Come the summer, I'm used to spotting Ferraris here and there on the streets of Montreal.

Meanwhile, in Israel, there is a very high tax on importing cars. Not to mention additional costs associated with owning a car. I recently read that 10% of the government's revenues are made from the costs of car ownership.

All this means that expensive cars are not too common in Israel. So I was wondering, does anyone know if there are any Ferraris in this country? Even one? I'd be impressed if there were. (I'd also find out if its owner had a daughter.)

    Anyone have any clue?

How high is the tax? The tax here in Thailand is about 320% and there are quite a few F cars around.

Israel is not a country with a lot of luxuries. Most are not wealthy enough to purchase such a vehicle, and those that are have other priorities. With all the unrest in the region, people focus on other things. There are very expensive houses, but you will find Mercedes, Hundai, Daewoo as the major cars represented in the region.

I would be surprised if there were even 1 Ferrari in Israel

They had Ferraris in Iraq & Iran, well a very few people. Dubai & Saudi have a pile of Ferraris.
I wouldn't live in a country without Ferraris

My brother-in-law just moved to Jerusalem. Maybe I should drive there to visit him!

    Your brother-in-law is Jeremy, right?
He and I are in the same ulpan class, and we were just hangin' out last night.

I agree, by the way. I think you should drive to Israel in your Ferrari and come visit. How you want to get through Syria safely is another question altogether.
