I have a car that was in a prior fender bender. I have all of the measurement points for a chassis rig to straighten it. The actual measurements are off about 1/2 inch to 1 inch.

I need a simple program that will allow me to draw a simplified chassis in millimeters. I want to draw the correct measurements, and then overlay what I actually have. There are about 10 measurement points.

Basically, I am trying to figure out the best location to do a 1 inch frame pull...

I downloaded some free cad software, but its not doing what I need. I need to be able to draw a line of a certain lenght, then change its position and orientation. Or, for example, draw a box, then slant it by pulling on the corners, etc.

It seems to me that even simple cad software on my Mac Plus used to do this 20 years ago. But I can't get any of the current software to do it. Its not very user friendly.

Is there some simple free program that does this? 2d cad? Or perhaps just a simple drawing program would do...

    Any help appreciated...

    Hi,

I think I'd have a serious look at Google Sketchup. It's 3D but in a way unlike any other - As such you've got to your head around the way it "expects" stuff to be done, but folks are doing *amazing* things with it - Check out the model library for inspiration.

    Good luck, cheers,
    Ian
