If anyone needs tickets to the normally sold out Byron Nelson Golf Classic, May 12-15 let me know. I am in the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, that puts on the event, and all the funds ($5 million + per year) go to our troubled and at risk youth programs in Dallas. Last year we impacted 2,500 + youths and their families with our Oak Cliff school for at risk students, as well as our family therapy centers.
The packages start as small as $350 for 2 weeklong passes and 6 daily passes, and go all the way up to playing with the pro's for $7,500. We have been getting top fields here because the pro's love Byron, and know his love for working with these kids. The TPC at Four Seasons has lots of viewing mounds, and there are several spots you can watch multiple holes at once.
Come on out and watch some great golf, then have a drink in the Pavilion. You won't forget it. Message me with any questions.

I enjoy watching the pros and the Pavilion, haven't been in 5 years though. I'll let you know. That camera gets a workout too. ;)

I've been to the last couple of Byron Nelson Classics, they are alot of fun. There's plenty of nice scenery, always a good party. And I understand some sort of golfing competition also takes place there. ;)

Do you mean the pros IN the Pavillion? Those pros don't golf.

LOL, sorry Phil, ours are probably the responses you were hoping NOT to get. :) Despite all the jokes, I'm sure the SC is happy to sell the tickets, whether you come to enjoy the golf or the party.

If the weather is right, you can have fun watching players & ladies, too. Having generous friends, I get free tickets from them (except 3 years, we bought Blue Package), so I have been to the tournament for 15 years except last year. 3 times I was interviewed by TV, and on the news. You can have pretty good interaction w/ players if you go to the course on ProAm day. (Wednesday)

I forgot to mention the camera on Pro-Am day. One of my friend took photos taken prior years w/ players, and they all sign the following years. I haven't seen any player declined to autograph on pics yet.

Re the babe magnet, I know I am not. My honesty & sincererity are only charm I have, so I takes much longer than what magnet does. Why am I commenting seriously on Phil's JOKE?

So Phil, will you be working on the site this year?

I'll be on the move as a spotter for CBS. Me and several other red pant volunteers get groups 8 and lower, as they have a regular group of spotters that travels with them get the top groups. It's fun to follow these guys up close and call in their shots and scores.

Kidding aside, I'm curious, are those pants custom made, or so you fill out an order form or what? And do you only wear them at the tourney, or do you wear them at other SC events?

Haggar makes them for us and we only wear them that week, thankfully!
Here's some moments from one of the first Nelson's at Preston Trail. Someone in the crowd was hit by Gerry Ford that day. Kathryn Crosby, Bing's daughter, with Hope and Jim Chambers.

Hey Phil, do you know what group # you will be following tomorrow or Sunday? I am going to go out on Sunday for sure, maybe late afternoon Saturday.

You know, so I can hoot & holler your name out while your group is on the green. :)

Sorry guys but it's been the normal crazy Nelson week and haven't been to F/chat land. What great weather and crowds. As I said in another post, we have the most beautiful women in Dallas, and a high percentage of them strapped on those heels and made it out to the pavilion (and maybe a couple of golf holes) on Friday. No pics because of no camera's, but we have our wall of fame our Salesmanship Club photogs take and put on the board in the marshal's tent. Thanks to everyone that came out, and we hope to give $6.5 million this year from the tournament to the troubled and at risk children's programs we run. No Tiger these days sure doesn't have the impact it might have had 2-3 years ago. Nice to have Vijay, Phil, Ernie and Sergio all at 5 under or better going in to Sunday. Congrats to a first time winner Ted Purdy. He did it under windy conditions 3 of the 4 days, at a golf course that can bite you. I followed Chad Campbell for 2 days, and Jesper and Luke Donald today.

Dig, my 12 yr old son and I went out yesterday... sat at 17 green then 18 tee. Got to see everyone... Sergio, Phil, Ernie, Vijay. Great time and great weather is right! Pretty remarkable that Tiger missed the cut... and a bummer too for the tourney. Great time... we really enjoyed it.

Went out Friday after work with Greg and another SRX7 driver. Watched the last threesome come in 16 and play 17. Pavilion was 8 to 1 ratio, but those 1's were 8's and 9's! :) Great people watching. Ran into multiple Ferrari owner Greg Lee.

After last call went to Humperdinks and 2 of the 3 golfers we watched in that last group were at the table next to us. Neither made the cut at 3 and 11 over.

Amazing the skill level of these guys. I had a traumatic experience growing up with golf (not quite as bad as what 2nd place Sean O'Hair's sounds like ;)), but made me feel good watching these guys that I gave the sport up. These guys were at the bottom of the field not making the cut and all 3 threw mid-irons into the 200 yard #17 with a strong crosswind like a laser.

I regret not going out there today... but I was pretty sunburned from yesterday and I would have been in bad shape after another day in the sun. :(
