Does anyone know of any nice testaorssa's/348's for sale in the chicagoland area. My purchase of a testarossa at LFSC didn't pan out. My wife is very pregnant, and due any week now, so travelling to other states is pretty much out of the question...

    Any tips appreciated.

    Cars I know about:

    LFSC:

88 red/tan - car looks rough...Much rougher than I would expect for stated mileage. Buffed through in several spots, torn seat, scuffed up front.

87 white/red. Looks great. Color takes some getting used too. Tyler was unable to get past maintenance records, though major is recent. Definitely a GQ, but looked nice. Color I can overcome, lack of records I can't.

    Continental:
91 or so, immaculate, priced higher than I want to spend (80k$). For that price range I would get a 355...

    Harry Kaufman/Wisconsin
    85 red/tan, 54k miles?!, 54k$. Way to high of a mileage...

Any others!? I woiuld even consider the right 308/328...I just need a new toy.

Well,it looks like you've covered pretty much all of the Local resources.

I was interested in getting a White Testarossa/TR myself. The one up at LFSC looks really clean and all. But,I feel the opposite about that car than you do. No Records? That really doesn't bother me on that particular car. It's only got around 10K miles, and if it's been fully Serviced, than there's not much to really worry about...well,no more than what you would on any other 17 Year old car. Plus,I don't want anything older than an '88.5. I want the 5 Lug wheels. But,that Burgundy Interior...:(... If I got a White Car,would want a White,Crema,Tan...even Black Interior.

The car at Continental looks really nice, though. Maybe they'll deal down a little on it. Did you ask?

FML has a number of them (TRs, 348s)
Sport Auto (sportauto.cc) has at least 4 TRs (North Carolina)
I talked a lot with these guys before buying mine, they just didnt have one for me. They were very nice, seemed willing to go the extra mile.
PM me a fax number, I'll fax you the listings in FML if you do not subscribe.

Thanks guys, I have FML. I just wish I could travel and look at these cars. I'm just not that comfortable buying sight unseen...it is afterall, a used car!
