George at G-Wiz in Westfield is one of the best local guys. He's on the South Avenue Circle.

Used to take it to places but now I wash it myself. You can go to lots of cars washes and go to the bay to wash it yourself. Takes me an hour at most.

Given the option that's what I usually prefer to do. But I can never find one when I'm looking... Do you know where the nearest place to manhattan is with the self-wash bays?

    Thanks.

(pre-empting any smarta**es out there, by "self-wash" i'm still talking about washing the car, not washing myself, which I like to do in the privacy of my own home. ;))

    Yup. It's called pchop's house.

On a more serious note, don't know about self-service stations in Manhattan, but Technik1 does a good job of rubbing the cars down. Prices vary depending on how cool Gus / Angelo think you are (I pay a premium). 29th b/w 10th and 11th.

Tell 'em Vik sent ya. ;)

Hang on - you pay a premium because Gus/Angelo don't think you're cool enough not to? Or you pay a premium because they think you're way too cool? ;)

And if I tell them Vik sent me, then how cool am I?!?

Just messing with you (although I still don't know that I understand what you wrote up there about coolness and paying a premium)

(and, obviously, whenever the opportunity arises, of course I'll use the pchop wash'ngo)

Hey brad my mom told me that when you brought your 360 in for a wash she had to ask you to leave because they don't wash kit cars.

Maybe we should start a Manhattan Bikini Car Wash? It'd solve 2 problems:

    - Good hand wash
    - B!iches...

I've seen a couple of these set up. Pros:
    1) Pretty women
    2) Very popular
    3) Pretty women wearing bikinis
    4) low overhead
    5) Pretty women wearing suds

    Cons........
    1) Labor issues
    2) Start with pretty women, they quit when they find a guy (and you have to admit, bikini carwashes draw thousands of guys)
    3) Guys demand to work there (in bikinis.....ick!)
    3) After the pretty ones quit, what are you left with? A labor liability.

So, how about we start a small chain & then sell before the labor becomes a liability? :D

I would not know of a washing bay in the NYC area as I am in central Jersey when I do mine. In my town (East Brunswick) there is a nice one just 10 minutes from my house.

If you are looking for something close to NYC, go to Gus and Angelo at Tecknik1! They are GREAT people!
