Any good photographers going to car weekend at Monterey?

    I ask as I'll be looking for quality photos to add to my GTO site at http://web-cars.com/gto/ferrari_index.php to pass along the story of the Ferrari GTO.

    The good news: I can pay for the photos.

    The bad news: It isn't much.

    Which is SOP for this business. I wish it could be more, but this is a labor of love, not profit. You will get a photo credit in the form of a link of your choosing, which has business advantages.

    I am interested in Ferrari GTO photos from the historic races, the tour on Thursday and (of course!) the Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday.

    If you think you can help, please reply via PM or the email link at the bottom of my GTO web site.

    And thank you for helping to tell the Ferrari GTO story!

    Hi, Paul... Are you talking about 250 GTOs, GTOs, or 599 GTOs? This is probably not the best section to find photographers going to Monterey. If it's just 250 GTOs of which you want pictures, perhaps post this in vintage (or have a moderator move it there); if all GTO variants, move it to Detailing & Showroom or one of the California regional subforums.


    I have pictures of GTOs from the '60s, '80s and today, but they're not "good" pictures, just technical photos. I don't know what you'd use them for, but if you want them, let me know.

    Since the 288's technical name is simply "GTO", you might want to change 'GTO', in certain places on your site, to '250 GTO'.

    I took the trivia quiz and, I'm ashamed to say, I scored 70%.

    I will be there during car week with my SLR. What and where is the Tour on Thursday? I will for sure attend that. I wont be able to attend the race on saturday though.

    PS- Does anyone know if the the 250 GTO's will be at Concourso Italiano?

    The tour is a Pebble Beach event in which all the cars entered are eligible to take part in. It's an early morning event, mostly on Highway 1.     Not sure about the Concourso but some are expected at the Quail event.

    Thank you. I will attend the events on Thurs and Fri and try to get some shots of the GTO's. Ive never seen a 250 GTO in real life and would be an honor to see one.

    I have a few shots of the GTOs that were in attendance on Thursday in Carmel. PM me your email address and I will send you the high-res versions.

    On a side note, besides the ones in Carmel, I spotted a red 250LM getting on the freeway by Monterey Thursday as well as a silver 250 GTO on the freeway. They were not the same ones that were in the Carmel parade. Great to see them driven in real-world situations. :cool:

    Thanks to all who have offered to contribute photographs to my Ferrari GTO site at http://web-cars.com/gto/ferrari_index.php I've PM'd you to make arrangements to get the photos to me.

    I ended up taking about 4,800 photos between Thursday and Sunday. It was a real treat to see the 22 GTOs parked at the edge at Pebble. I'll post a few of my own later this week after I've had a chance to sort them out.
