    They wrecked a real one in the film? What a waste... At least they removed the engine and transmission first...

    why wouldn't they just purchase a replica or have one made for the movie? What is the point in wrecking the real car? I can see maybe getting rid of it as a write off if depreciation has taken its toll but otherwise I'm not seeing it.

    Because it creates more hype for the movie and it gets more headlines when they wreck a $500,000 Porsche and not a Toyota that looks like a $500,000 Porsche.

    A movie that tanked? Had no plot or decent acting? A movie that was created on a whim of a "playboy"? Only an idiot would spend $500,000 when $50,000 would do.
