I'm located in Rockford and have a few mid-50's Gibson guitars I might be selling, along with an late 50's J-200. PM or post if interested. -Kain
Hey, can you post a few pix? I used to have some really Cool old Guitars from "back in the day" when I played in Metal bands back in the late '70's early '80's. But, like a dumbass, I sold them all. Everything... But I had an early 1960's sunburst Stratocaster. A 1957 Les Paul. And some others. I bought these Guitars back in the mid-late '70's, when they were just considered "Old,Used Guitars and Equipment", because they were all reasonably priced. Now?.... I also had an old 100 Watt, Tube Marshall head and 2 Cabinets,(a "stack") An old Gibson Amp., and an old tube Fender twin reverb Amp. Wish I'd have kept them all. Oh well....Wish I'd have kept alot of my old Cars,too.....
Man, I wish I was in a position to buy a new toy! Here are some of mine. Too new to be collectibles, but I love 'em! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Im in Roscoe and am looking for a new guitar, but I don't have Gibson toy money right now.....I just hooked up a distortion pedal to my acoustic/electric...sounds great!
Hi Kain, lucky you, Gibson guitars from the ´50th are the best investment! My advice, keep them and dont sell them!!! Prices are growing monthly higher & higher. You won t believe it but its true: 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard (in near mint condition and 100% original) is 350.000,- US$! 1955 Gibson Les Paul, P90, Wrap Around TP (100% original down to the virgin solder joints) is 50.000,- US$ .....and so on. B4 you sell, check the curent market value at: www.gbase.com Great place to see the prices growing and most dealers are serious & honest there! If you have any more questions dont hesitate and feel free to ask me - its my job/business since 15 years. Here is a link to my web-site: www.guitar-coffee-shop.com Best Wolfgang
This is a kool thread...I think we may need to keep a "cars & guitars" thread alive on this board. Can never have enough car or guitar pictures being posted. Thanks. Vince
Definitely have to agree with Wolfgang. Keep those Old Guitars! That will be your Retirement $$ someday. ( But you must keep a couple to strum on the Front Porch.... )
I have a Dylan stage played guitar with photos of him playing it in concert in Italy. It's also pictured in the Dylan book "Tangled up in tapes" something like that. I want a Dylan electric guitar. I've only come across fakes.
Wolfgang, I was finally able to collect some information about the guitars I have currently (pictures will be posted Friday, btw): -1956 Gibson J-200 (natural option) -1949 Gibson ES-300 (dual pickup) -1938 Epiphone Broadway -1963 Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman -EARLY 1950's Gibson L-7 (single cutaway) -EARLY 1990's Fender Mexican Strat
cool. i collect guitars, i have about 25 of them. the best is a 59 gibson es 355 dot neck. the rest all have their story.
i cant say that i collect guitars... just have the 5 i play on currently... but i know a collector or two... but im quite sure he already has nearly every year of the les paul to date. personally, im a Fender man. what band(s) did you play in? or if lesser known; may i ask what area... as different reigons spauned different styles.
I have about 50 guitars in my collection that range from archtops and flattops to Les Pauls, tele's, strats, zemaitis and recently I have began buying vintage Ibanez's high-end models, 1956 J-200 a beautiful guitar. I have a blonde '59 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I did not think there were this many guitar players/collectors on F-Chat. There are some very serious collections being thrown around. Regardless of how many you have in your collection there is always room for one more. Thanks. Vince
Did you ever try a Rauen? In spite of not making mention of it on his site, he does build guitars also. As evidenced by the "Orgainc Metal" model on the lower right of the home page. http://rauenguitars.com/index.html I have a mid '30's Gibson flattop acoustic, that I have yet to positively ID. It seems to be a custom order. 3/4 body, jumbo shaved neck, with a small horn by the headstock, like an old Martin.
Anyone interested in taking a look at the J-200? I'm looking to sell to fund a street car for this summer...
Sorry, boys! An old fart shows his sh*t. Can't play for beans, but can buy like no one's business! Good luck, you guys! BTW, J200 ranks as the best out there for those willing to pound the sound out of the thing--unsurpassed! Glad you're enjoying our little thread Wolfgang. If you ever make it to Chicago I'll take you to some places where you can hear these guitars in action. What's with the Lambo logo? Is that where your 100k eventually went?
Hello Andreas, oh yes, something I would realy love to do - show me Chicago Long time ago I have been there...... Still a must go, see and hear again THE LEGENDS - Buddy Guys Live Club http://www.buddyguys.com/ And I`m sure, you who are living there, you even know much better places The Lambo Logo in my avatar: First I wanted to sell my 91 Tesarossa, ad some big cash and buy a yellow Diablo SV. Now, I decided to stick with my beloved beast (testa) and buy a second toy: a 1981 - 1988 Lamborghini Countach. Sadly haven`t found the right toy and I´m still searching but with time and fun. Best Wolfgang
You got the supercars from the eighties, what else do you need? If anything I'd only add a historic racecar. Sorry, back to the guitars: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Grüzi Andreas, no more race cars to me I bought last year 2 F3 cars. A Dallara F398 and a Dallara F301 (plus a truck, trailor, mechanics....a.s.o.). I raced them and I can tell you its INSANE expensive!!!!!! Within 6 months 100K....pffff. = I sold my little F3 team in December 2005. Thats another long and funny story and I dont want to hijack, sorry. Back topic: Here is a pic from my old store and the famous FENDER CANDY APPLE RED COLLECTION.
