    Hi everyone,

I'm contemplating what I should do with my 458 in the cold upstate NY winter months.
I don't have access to a garage or outlet, so plugging in the battery tender is not an option.

I've also done some research and it seems like a solar panel charger would not work in the cigarette lighter socket either.

so I can only see 3 real options...

    1. Just leave it, and not worry about it until spring where it'll need to be jumped. This doesn't sound like a great option because it seems like a ferrari shouldn't be jumped due to sensitive electronics?

    2. disconnect the battery completely and hopefully it will either retain enough charge in the spring to start up, or i can remove it completely and charge it indoors?

    3. Is there an adapter that can ultimately get my solar panel trickle charger to plug into where the battery tender goes in the passenger footwell area? if only that were a standard socket...

    4. any other options? i've seen portable lithium ion battery charger/jumper mentioned. has anyone used those? how are they? are they just as damaging to use as a standard jump?

hi, certainly not option 1, an empty battery in the car + cold surroundings destroys the battery. 2. take the battery out of the car, take it home and buy a charger, who atomaticaaly loads the battery until trikle charging, or when full, disconnect and charge
gain in a month, keep battery in normal temperature.
3 i do not have experience in solar charging..
