I am new to the site and had a question that you guys might be able to help me with. Does anyone have any information on a 1987 328 GTB #67033? The seller does not have any records prior to a couple of years ago and I thought it might be someones old car. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

How much does not having complete service records detract from this example of car? Assuming that the last major service was done by a good, well known Ferrari machanic?

What is a fair price for a 1987 328 GTB with 16000 miles (Red with Tan)? The 30,000 mile service needs to be done in about 18 months.

Should I wait for an 89 which was my ultimate goal. If some one out there is interested in selling an 1989 328 GTB Red or Yellow(I know yea right) with Tan or Black interior and low miles please feal free to email me.

Thank you for any help or advice.
    Rich

PS Dave enjoy your 430 and thank you for all your help!!!

    Rich,
I'm glad you signed up. Everyone here will help when they can, and all of us with GTB's will be glad when you find one and join the club. I'll have lots of pics to show you at the FUN show of the motor pool. You might want to use "Bimmerboy" for your handle.

I spent hours last night reading posts and learning as much as I could. I was very impressed at the help and the knowledge pool of the members. They seem to have a real passion for there cars and people who dive them. Also they seem to be really patient with the Newbies.

I look foward to seeing your pictures. PS bring some pics of your 328.

I test drove this car about a year ago and it was very nice but the owner wanted like $52-55k which I thought was too much. He listed it on Ebay a few times and bidding always stayed at around $42K. Then I saw the car at Cavallino in Jan. with a new owner who was also trying to sell it for 55K. He put it up on Ebay a few months ago and bidding went to like $45k. I contacted the new owner and he led me to believe that he had been offered like $52K. I thought that was too high at the time. Now i see the car again on Ebay with the same miles and it seems to be the same owner. These are just my opinions and my experiences as remember them. I hope they help.

Did you like the car when you drove it. I had the same story. He told me that he was offered 52K. I thought the right price would be in the mid 40's. I was just wondering if the car was a good car. I am looking for a GTB and it just happen to be close enough that I could view the car easy. The mileage seamed in the range I was looking for, but I am more than willing to wait for the right one to come around. I am really leaning toward waiting for the right 89 GTB to come along.

Thank you for the information I really appreciate it. It was very helpful.

I believe its a nice car and it drove well. I am into originality but I remember liking those rims. Did you see the red/black 1989 GTB recently on Ebay and Ferrariads.com? If so, whats the story with that one? I went ahead and purchased a 1976 Glass GTB.

Given that the Major is due in a bit, 52k is definitely on the high side.

But the car looks really good & the rims suit the car nicely.

If you don't mind overpaying a bit, it looks to be a very nice car.

I like the rims, also. I think they look great, but I want a perfect original. Here is the good and bad news with the car. The Original rims come with the car and are in perfect condition, but the HRE rims do not. For $53000 I just feel it is over priced. Specially with out both rims. I am thinking $42 to $45 is where the car should be maybe a little more, but the major service is a big negative for me.

If I can not get what I want with the 328 than a Glass 308 is my second choice, I feel they are a great value at this level. I did not see the black 328 on ebay. I just started serious about looking. Rammer did you just get the Glass one? Was that your post I read about the joys of owning a Ferrari with the pictures in front of your house?

Rammer, I hope someday to meet you and see your baby.

    Thank you

I would agree - I would put the top dollar price at $47k, only because it does look like a nice example. After the major, you would be into the car for $50-$51K which no doubt is top dollar.

I always thought the GTB's were even cheaper than a GTS.... Not sure why that would be - I like the lines of the GTB better, but I do remember seeing that somewhere.

Yea, I like the lines better also on a GTB. I just love the lines of the car in gerneral (since I was 4 years old always been my favorite) and after seeing a GTB that is the way I must go. I feal $47 is still high. I have not been looking long, but I think "Hardtop" waited 18 months for the right one to come along. GTB's are really tough to find especially an 89 for a fair price. I am still young and I am willing to wait for the right car.

Some people say the GTS is worth more but its hard to tell. If this was a GTS it would probably be worth close to $50k if it had been serviced. A dealer like Shelton would get about $55k for it. I think $45k would be a good deal but its hard to tell as there are few of them around. One thing we know for sure is that the car has been on sale for $52k and not sold for at least 9 months. You can use that in your negotiation.

It was red with a black interior and it was on sale on ebay (do a search) and Ferrariads.com. Lamborghini of Dallas also had a 1989 GTB for sale.
