Hey Guys, I'm toying with the idea of getting a bike. Having never ridden a street bike, I'm not ready for a full blown crotchrocket. I really had my heart set on the new Ducati Monster S2R. But, alas, the local dealer has just closed up and the nearest one now is Houston. I like the naked bikes in general but am leaning towards the Honda 599. Anybody by chance have one/ridden one, that could offer some real world comments instead of the sales pitch? My local dealer has 2 '04's left which probably have been there for almost a year now, but he says they could go any day now. Yeah Right! It would seem that puts me in the position of power during negotiations. Thanks for any and all suggestions! FORZA!!!!! Dave
I have never ridden one but the tests that I have read all speak very highly of them. You can't really go wrong on a honda, almost zero maintenance and known for rider comfort first.
Yeah, Honda's reputation does go a long long way! And at $149 a month with a 4 yr ext warranty included, it's looking better. And I figure, since it'll be my first bike, I'll get enough tinkering experience to let me confidently buy a Monster( the bike that really excites me like my Ferrari does!) out of warranty down the road.
