I would not pay (myself) over $85K for it - but then, I have never understood the great enthusiasm for these in the Porsche marketplace.

It is probably saleable somewhere in low 5 figures.

I would think it's at Sloan so it would be over $100K...

I'd say $75k for the 94. The trend has flip flopped and the 89s are worth more than the 94s

Good grief - I thought these used to be 50K -75K all day long. I didn't realize they'd jumped up so much in price.

the miles will hurt the value.

There was a 94 Speedster sale last year in LA..I was speaking with the owner about buying it. He wouldn't take less than $110k. IIRC it had low miles and was in excellent condition. I believe it sold to a dealer in Europe.

There was another 94 Speedster at a dealer in NY fairly recently. He has owned (maybe had owned) that car for a year I am guessing. It had 30k (IIRC) and was asking around $100k. I offered him $85k and he refused. Car was missing the OE seats.

If your car is clean (original paint etc) I would humbly suggest your car is in the $75-80k range. A dealer would offer you at least 10% less. Again, the miles are the issue. Porsche collectors want virgin cars. Your buyer has to be looking for a Speedster to drive. In that price range you and bumping up against a ton of interesting options (new and used).

The 89s have eclipsed the 94s in value. A very nice low miles 89 (in any color) is now a near $200k car and climbing.

Many folks forget that Porsche made 3500+ 356 Speedsters and look where those cars are today.

I sold these when they were new, and we could not give them away.

For the longest time they were $55-75K.....which in CAD terms was 50-75% of MSRP.

Since the mother of all financial bubbles began due to QE, cars have gone up again.

Do not buy one at today's prices.

Wow,haven't looked at these in a long time. I had two in 1998,99 a red one with red wheels and a black one. Sold one for 41k and the other for 43k. Can't believe they have climbed that high. One of the very few cars I have ever had that is worth more now than when I bought it!

What he said. I remember my local Porsche dealership had three of them. They were still sitting on the lot when the new 993's came out a year later. 89's were (and are) something special. I can't say the same about the 94's.

    IMHO
