Would Western Models be advertising at Long Beach?? I always thought they were British. Could this be Silverstone? But wait, the sun is out. I heard there is no sun in England. It's a McLaren, that is all I am sure about.
If you have 5 minutes, watch this clip of the 1983 GP at Long Beach. Rosberg (Keke that is) was amazing (in a bad way). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph4Q2I326qQ
I think it may be Lauda's MP4B from the 82 season. Few subtle differences in the car that make me think it's not the MP4/1C.
He was always 7 at McLaren except for one race in 1985 when he substituted for Lauda and drove the 1 car. The only time in F1 that a substitute driver has driven the 1 car.
So who what and where is the final conclusion here? Its not Lauda's helmet, the driver's head is tilted forward in a way that reminds me how Watson drove. So what's the correct answer.
It is Lauda's helmet. Here he is at Silverstone the same year. Photo by Anthony Fosh Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks, I do not remember this helmet. Always thought he had a solid red with his name on each side. But the question reamains to the original post, who, what, where, and when?? Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's an MP4/1C. The driver is Lauda because it is number 8.. The year is 1983 because of the livery and the MP4/1C combination. It's a street course and that is the livery that was used at Long Beach. The livery (with the black number 8) and the shape of the rear wing endplate were unique to Long Beach for McLaren that year.
