Does anyone know this dealer: Target Cars BV? It is located in Holland. We have been looking at a Ferrari 360 Spider he has for sale: ...But I find it a little bit to cheap to be realistic. Does anyone know anything about the car or dealer? Vifa
Hi mate. Sorry i dont know the car but i can tell you a little bit about the company itself (im not affiliated with it in any way, i live about 1000 miles south of it). Target basically buys cars in the united kingdom (where cars are pretty much cheapist in the whole of europe) but only cars which are left hand drive (as the the UK is RHD primarily, LHD tend to sell slowly there and therefore even cheaper than the same car but in RHD). Because the UK has cars with the steering wheel on the 'wrong' side they sometimes get the cars later than the LHD market (look at the ferrari california for example, with LHD cars already being delivered, RHD market has to wait a little longer, typically 3-6 months). Some people want their car very early and tend to order them with the steering wheel on the wrong side for them. Target imports these to holland, but critically, keeps them registered in england. So if someone wants to purchase the car they have to register it in the country they live in (which broadens their market, as they are normally even cheaper than the german, belgian and swiss market). So lets say you live in holland, you have to not only pay 100K for the car, but also 10% import tax, but i believe also (on top of the 110%) the 19.5% BPM and i believe also import duties of 10 % (not 100% of the last one is required as i dont live in holland anymore and never really looked into the import fees there...). so yeah, basically look in to what you need to pay in your country regarding importing a car in your country. i'm about to start importing cars to spain myself (will start before Q2 2009 hopefully, need to get a little more money together) so i know a trick or two aswell to reduce the taxes but you have to be very careful.
