Last year I took my teenage son to Simeone and he paused for a long while in front of the Speciale. I could see the wheels turning... two passenger seats... blonde/brunette? brunette/redhead? redhead/blonde?

I believe that the information plaque at Simeone says that 3 were built.

I believe F-Chat has only 2 serial numbers, though.

    Fantastic car!

8815 (now red with spoiler) and 8971 (now white without spoiler). We've had more than one discussion in the past over whether 8971 was modified in a number of ways or if the various period images of the white car actually represent two different cars. I say only two have ever existed. Besides, Pininfarina was known to make major modifications to the same car (s/n 2207 SA is a perfect example of this).

I'm cleaning up my computer desktop and found a few more picture.

I would love to have this car. I love the looks, the engine, the three seats, the roof, and so on.

I want the one behind it in the first picture. If it's real.

It's very real. Corvette Grand Sport 002 is the second Spyder and the 2nd of 5 1963 GS's total (last 3 were coupes).
002 was the George Wintersteen car. The Wintersteen body is lovely and has a wonderful patina. Previous long term owner commissioned a from scratch recreation of the body pictured which was long gone along with a 377 motor built to the specs of the one that originally lived under this body. Had a rolling jig built for display purposes so that this body and the Wintersteen one could be displayed, had an engine display stand built so either the 377 or the original Traco-built big block that goes with the Wintersteen body can be displayed. A terrific combination of historic preservation coupled with an effort to recreate lost elements of the car's history for display and educational purposes.

    Also, 8971 is awesome! :)

Wasn't this car the one linked to the Chinetti Jr/Ferrari court capades?

I'm actually surprised to find that I have an ad for this one, from Chinetti Sr. no less!
