    Event: BMW Club Patroon Chapter

    Cost: $265.00

You have to do a track day at least once in your life, especially in a Ferrari! Limerock is about 1.5 hours away, and a great course.

I have ran with the BMW Patroon chapter before, they are VERY organized and very SAFE!!! Those of you who hear stories about people crashing are usually from the advance groups or NITWIT that do NOT listen to their instructors. All novice drivers will be with an instructor that will ride with you, teaching you the "lines". You ONLY go as fast as YOU want to go. There are no passing allowed unless the person waves you to go ahead. It is VERY SAFE and will be a great experience.

I will be at that event myself, I believe there are a few spots left open. If there are a few interested let me find out how many spots are left.

Take the CS, it's what it was meant for!!! You know you'll have a blast in it without even come close to its limits.

I always wanted to take my M5 to the track eversince I went on the M5 driving experience. Plus, 8000 per brake on the CS and I want to practice heel-toe.

If you are in let me know, since you have a M5 you probably have a BMWCCA membership which would reduce the cost to $225. I have another friend with a M3 going.

No Spiders? ****. How about cabrios with a hardtop - I can always borrow my little brother's 996...

I've had my damn TR on the road since I got it - figures that I would specifically need it now, right after I take it off the road :(

A car without a fixed roof needs a roll bar or cage.

Just a word to the wise; I am not sure you can attend if you are not a CCA member, and even if you are, it is VERy difficult to get in if you are not a member of the hosting chapter.

Also, a warning; Lime Rock is an insanely technical track, and WILL bite you if you screw up. I have seen guys roll cars on many sections of the track after screwing up. I know guys that will not drive LRP in a street car (*******!).

That being said, if you CAN get in, it is well, well worth it. I have driven LRP with the Porsche Club and the BMW club and it is a hoot.

We can ask a BMW CCA sponsor to let us in last minute -- if there's interest lemme know, and I'll get some calls made...

Don't do Lime Rock as your first track. Focus on the different track setups at Pocono. If you screw up at Lime Rock there's lots of stuff to crash into. Pocono has a bunch of run off so it's safer to find the limits of your car.

For what it's worth, Lime Rock is a great place to see cool crashes :D

So, just keep it calm and make sure the wheels are straight when you hit the up hill. You'll be fine...

I wasn't even thinking of the hill. I was thinking of people braking in the turn after the straight.

    I won't say another word :D

Oh, right. That. Well, we all need to learn how to trail brake at some point...
