From what I've seen these cars are pretty much bullet proof, a.k.a Audi build. Any issues on early VIN cars - clutch, taillights, coilover covers, etc. - are all covered under warranty.

My question is whether anybody has had non-scheduled maintenance that was not covered under warranty.

Thinking of getting one, which is why I want to know what I am getting into.

    Many thanks.

Me too, but it's bloody hard to get any info from owners!!!

I've spoken to a few UK dealers who's given me a few pointers.

The front suspension squeals on all cars. (?)

The original clutch should have been changed at least once. If the original hasn't been changed by 10,000 miles then it won't be covered under warranty (£4500 for a new one! Gulp!). The new ones are supposed to last 20k for an E-Gear and 10k for a maunal. Any owners got to these miles yet on their 'new' clutches?

Any model after Oct '04 has had all the previous models recalls done at the factory so in essence they're '05 cars. You can tell if it's a later car by a gold bull on the steering wheel.

Adding a Tubi gives you a close performance to the SE but voids the warranty. All new '06 cars are being shipped with Tubis as standard. Makes me wonder why they'll void the warranty on the earlier cars if they're all gonna ship with them anyway!!!???

One G-Owner told me that he'd had his instrument cowl changed as it was loose (!) and his air con system was leaking - fixed under warranty.

I'm still trying to find out a little more info and when I get it I'll keep you posted.

All this info is from the UK so I don't know if it's valid state side.

You should take it into a Lambo shop that doesn't know about your car and ask a mech to come and check for a funny whistling coming from the engine bay... ask if they can figure out the problem. Would be great to see their expressions finding all the extra plumbing underneath!

The Lamborghini Ultimate Motors in central Florida offers aftermarket exhaust systems, this means that it doesn't void the warranty over here I guess. One thing that I find odd about an earlier posting is about the clutch, how could an Egear last longer than a manual 6 speed?

This is the first I've heard about a Tubi voiding any sort of warranty. My Tubi was dealership-installed, and the LTS reps haven't had any sort of issue continuing warranty coverage. In fact, they like the Tubi. :)

As far as Vik's question -- my experience in owning 40k miles worth of Gallardo (heh) -- 12k on #1, 20k on #2, and 8k on #3, is that if an issue is going to show up, it'll show up early -- and often. But my impression is that if you make it 24k miles / 2 years, without problems, you'll make 100k miles. :)

Hey man! I'm only just starting to find things out about Gallardos and two of the three official dealers in the UK have given me this information.

I've posted numerous times on this board and *********** asking UK owners for any advise and nobody bothers to answer so when I go out and try and find out the information from official sources I'm now getting shot down for it.

How do you know the items I mentioned are not true? I'd love to hear about what you think if your a Gallardo owner because it's proving pretty difficult to find founded answers from anyone.

Alan @ Lambo High Wycome told me about the suspension squeal, the clutch warranty, the Tubis and the late 04 cars. Rocco at Lambo Manchester told me about the life of the new clutches and the warranty with the Tubis.

Lambo Manchester and London are owned by the same company. Lambo High Wycome is separate to London/Manchester. Where the **** am I supposed to go to buy a Gallardo if the only two UK official dealers are 'apparently' telling lies???!!!!!!!!!

I've had a Gallardo for about 18 months, the car has had a Tubi fitted by Lambo London and they have honoured all warrenty claims all minor , ie oxygen sensor, head light unit. They changed the clutch as a precaution at 3K miles free of charge, and have always picked up and delivered the car back with excellent service They wiil honour warrenty as long as the Tubi is fitted by main deal. By the way my front suspension does not squeak!!!!!!!.

That sounds like a great service from Lambo London. I wonder why Lambo Manchester told me that the Tubi wouldn't be covered under warranty (?) I asked Rocco if they sold and fitted Tubis and he told me no. I asked if Verdis fitted them and he said he didn't know. I thought the Lambo dealer should know who the main UK importer of Tubis are!

I said a squeak but I meant a knocking sound. I was told they all knocked but I've only had one owner confirm it.

How much do you think the level of service will change on pre-owned cars as opposed to cars bought from new?

How far are you from Lambo London? I wonder where abouts their collection service ends?

The knocking sound - get them to change the front wheel bearings and change the diff oil - that will get rid off knocking sound and reduce noise. Recently had this done... Took dealers 2 weeks to diagnose!!!

I have the knocking/rattle sound in my car, the dealer has spent a lot of time trying to figure out the problem, car is in the shop now where they say they have something new they put on the sway bar.

I was told the early G had the rattle or knocking issue.

Im based in North Kent, I bought the Tubi from Scuderia Systems in Egham and then arranged Lambo London to fit. I think as long as the car is a UK supplied car they are more then willing to accomodate owners, they are just protecting their market by being less helpfull with personal imports.

Right OK. I got my Capristo from Manu At Scuderia Systems but Verdis fitted it. I wouldn't be looking for an import anyway so maybe I should have another chat to Rocco about the Tubis.
