We just saw Keith Jarrett's first improvisational concert (here in LA) in 23 years! We met him backstage and had a little drinky. He was amazing! He did 4 encores and brought the house down! Jack Black was sitting next to me. He's only 5 feet tall!
I love jazz Saw Sonny Rollins at the airport on Saturday, before I went to the Stones concert. He played sax on the original recording of BROWN SUGAR
John- It has been awhile, but in the old days, there were a few people that rigged-up turntables to play in their cars. Too much trouble for me, though. I guess that's why 8 tracks are such a success. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You lucky dog. Interesting return to Disney Hall article written before this unamplified performance. What was his longest improv?
He would sit and look at the keyboard for a minute, kinda smirk, and just go. He really gets into it. He stands up and stomps his feet at times while writhing around on the bench. I'd say they were all between 7 and 10 minutes.
