    Hi guys,

I was cleaning my car and noticed this wire had come loose (yellow/black stripe) from the loom behind the air filter box on the drivers side(rhd) ? It's a 308 euro QV GTS.

Any ideas where it needs to be fastened back to?

    Thanks

It's hard to tell from the photo. But, I think it goes to the license plate light. Mine is yellow/black.

I also have a QV Euro with a new style compressor. I expect that wire is the ground wire for your compressor clutch. On my car the ground wire runs from the dip stick mount near the top of the dip stick tube where it mounts to the timing belt cover - to the compressor (see the picture). I would first make sure that there is no power on the wire with everything on including the compressor and then check the wire for continuity to ground. If no power and there is continuity to ground then I would connect it to the compressor body.

As I look at your photo again, I think I might see your ground wire in place. This photo of my original compressor shows both the power and ground wires tie wrapped together. The power wire is the lighter in color and goes to the connector that is just right of the dip stick, the darker ground wire goes to the dipstick mount.

Hard to tell from the pic but if it's the wire from the license plate then it should be yellow with black stripe.
