My fraternity brother is in jail without bail for 30 days. How can this be? He got put in because he had 2 MIP's for drinking. But why no bail? Can they actually do this? He is a good kid, and thease are the only two run ins with the law that he has had in his life, that I can think of. Futhermore, is there a way I can get him out sooner? TIA Paul K.
"Writ of Habeas Corpus" .... contact a criminal defense attorney in the jurisdiction where he is jailed ASAP or at least contact the public defender's office. There has to be come missing facts here, bail may have been set, but he could not come up with the funds and thus he's jailed pending trial. Good luck
Thanks for all the advice. A little update is that he is out of jail. The prick of a judge was just giving him a "scare".
