if it were someone else , they'd be boiled alive. with this "2 Times Le Mans Winner" , everyone is Poosyfooting. why is that ? This is the premier endurance event. Where drivers (real ones) have died campaigning their cars. Sad to have it devalued by those claiming to be drivers , worse still , to be winners. Just read the stories (real ones) that Mark has posted above. They're nothing short of inspirational. Its insulting to these men who actually risked all to be "Le Mans drivers". . .
Evo is basically the interim cars from 2002 before they made changes to the monocoque in 2003. There was an aero change made in 2002 during testing, the "evo" spec car has a tail that is 50 mm longer (diffuser is also longer), new rear wing design (shorter cord, more steeply cambered), the nose was 40 mm shorter and the sidepods were redesigned. The evo cars also had a 4.0 liter engine, 002 was still running the 3.6 liter engine and was used for aero developments. There were some other changes made in 2002 (like power steering) and I can get into those details too if you want, but I think we should start a new thread if we go down that route...
Yes, when directly confronted. This still doesn't stop him from signing off 'Roland F40LM' at the end of every post, and it does not stop others from being misled into believing his car is a genuine LM. I've read a number of posts which have refered to Roland's LM, and I've never seen any 'correction', unless the issue has blown up. Moreover, I know of two threads requesting pics of genuine LMs where photos of his car were posted by 'misled' members. This whole LM thing is even an issue between Roland and some of his F40 owning friends. I see a bit of a pattern....
I've read this thread, and I'm pretty disappointed in what I think I see. I thought Mr. Linder was a LeMans Winner. In my eyes, in the eyes of most racing fans, that's superhero territory. I was honored to be in the same room at the Scuderia Rampage, listening to him prep the drivers. Now I see that was a misunderstanding -- and I am sick to think there may have been a deliberate decision to not correct this misunderstanding as it grew and spread. Is it that hard to say "hey, I was a crew member?" Is it that hard to say it before the facts are drug out, kicking and screaming, into the daylight? Roland, you've been online and posted since this erupted -- why won't you answer for yourself? I know Roland and his Exotico Concourso crew won't care about one guy from Texas' opinion, and this will be the last I say on it. But please, Roland -- say it ain't so!
Hey Tillman, you know what's far worse? Banking on that same contrived reputation to charge brother F-Chatters $$$850 for a hijacked event! D'oh!
is there even going to *be* that E-C event? Even Roland's most virulent supporter on this thread has joined the other Rampage-breakoff event that Jeffrey is organizing (with no 'event' fees). See here, post 15: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90497 Now there are THREE events! I'd have to say the Pimp started a religion, given how many times it has split and formed new sects.
Are you referring to me ?? I like to drive mty cars at any event, so if you are referring to me, I didnt leave and join anything, I will attend @ 40 events this year, and plan on enjoying everyone of them. cheers, --a
So much sarcasm. Still not making friends even with the move? I see so many people stepped up to help you find a place for your rig. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89949 Must be your friendly postings... Cheers
Yes... it seemed like you were distancing yourself from Roland and the Exoticorso event. You are welcome to come to the Scuderia Exotic Regina Run, too!
Another legend dies. If they hadn't attempted to steal the Rampage, this wouldn't have come out, I suspect. See what a little chicanery leads to? Roland, RIP. Art
sarcasm ?? I asked a question.. And yes I have made many friends, and will make many more I am sure. -a
I am not distancing myself from anything, I just enjoy my cars and have as always will assist, join, and be part of anything that includes driving my cars... As I stated before, I will be going to a few number of events, and if your attending let me know.. would be nice to meet a fellow fchatter as always. -a
What have we accomplished here? Kram has told us some fascinating tales of his Le Mans experiences and we have other racers, engineers, etc. in our midst as well, with their own interesting stories. The kicker, however, is that Roland's reputation as a racing driver is toast and some say rightfully so. I've never told bullsh!t or claimed any untruths about my so-called racing career and this thread is a lesson for those who do. With that, I have to say that this thread has run its course. Although I'd love to hear more from Kram...
