Removed taillights to check for dreaded paint scrapes, and sure enough, both left tails ate thru the paint. And it was a pain to remove the gas cap manual release, so would like NOT having to deal with them again. Thing is I haven't bought touch-up paint yet :-(.

Don't think it's too visible in there, so would like to try something close. If anybody has a suggestion, it'd be greatly appreciated. And that reminds me I need to buy OEM (as in perfect match, not necessarily Ferrari) touch-up paint for some chips car has, so sources for that would be appreciated as well. Many thanks.

By the way, what's the hydraulic reservoir on the right side of the car, just ahead of the headlights? Looks like the E-Diff fluid, right? Man, what a freakingly complicated feature, with many hydraulic parts just there. I'd have settled for a clutch LSD myself. Oh well.

I always ask my F car dealer to get some for me from the body shop they use for body repairs - never been charged yet on 2 cars.

JC, the hydraulic reservoir is only for the E-DIFF (you have a manual gear I believe). It's very simplified version compared to the F1. If you saw the F1, you would be even more impressed ;). As I wrote in the Taillight DIY guide, I suggest to glue some soft pads to avoid the taillights rubbing on the paint and avoid also them braking off.

Once you know how to remove the gas manual opener handle, you'll do it eyes closed. I've removed this handle a 100 times ;)

As suggested by Russel, just ask your dealer to send over some touch paint in the right color.

Will definitely do that, but mostly to evenly space the taillights. Plus will sand down those edges as well, since the offending ones are much more 'flared' than the others. I have to say I'm less than impressed with fit and finish on this car. Panel fit and gaps are all over the place as well. And no, no sign of any parts being ever replaced.

Just bought car, and closest dealer is over 400 miles away, so not an option for me.

Thanks man. That's what I'll order for the chips, but hope to hear a 'local' recommendation probably what I'll end up doing, but will wait today for a readily available recommendation for the taillight. Many thanks to all. Have a great day.

If you have an automotive paint supply in your area (usually listed under "automotive paint and body supplies") they can mix whatever you need. Paint code is under the front trunk lid. My supplier was able to make 4oz at a cost of about $50.00. Good luck.

Just ordered the best kit from 'Dr. Colorchip' (code is 322 for Rosso Corsa). Heard great things about it, and after watching their video, seems like the best alternative. Will try to find a regular touch-up paint tomorrow for the inside of the taillights, but for chips will use the kit. If you want to wait until I receive mine, I'd gladly give you my impressions.

Hey gang, also need to touch up one red caliper (factory option) and one wheel. Does anybody have the codes for those, or a matching color from a Japanese/domestic car? Thx.

I use a toothpick and build up the " crater " over a few applications. Prior to touching up clean the chip area with a Q-Tip and a a solution of simple green and water to get any wax build up . You can also use a Testor's Modeling small tip brush, available at any hobby shop ..... and patience.

If you have a Sherwin Williams automotive near you they can mix just about any color.. prepare for a quality headache waiting in the shop though
