I was in the light aircraft business around 2000 and am back visiting a bunch of old friends in FL in the business. I was a Hang-Gliding tandem instructor, administrator, advanced instructor, ultra-light instructor, flight park manager, etc.

Now the regs have all changed but I'm looking at developing an LSA maintanence business as a Rotax certified tech.

The word locally is that there is a lot of demand.

    Any F-chat advice on that?

I have yet to actually see an LSA and I fly out of PDK which is an extremely busy GA airport.

The only "LSA"s I've seen have been lightweight versions of Cubs and Citabrias.

Ive flown a couple of LSA's as a sort of exploritory flight to see how well they could work as a training aircraft for UND. Personally I like em for what they are made for, they arent meant to be fast and fancy they are supposed to be like the old cub was plane old flying. Ive flown the Skycatcher, Remos and the diamond LSA's, and while they all are great planes I just havent seen any others than they ones supplied by the companies to fly with so I take the "exploding market" line with a grain of salt.

Here's my thought on the LSA's.....

Fun flying is going somewhere. I don't poke around the pattern anymore. It's not fun.

If I'm flying for fun, I'm getting a Robinson Helicopter or a paraglider.

I don't think LSA's are going work out.
