Let's see a show of hands of those who have done a marathon. I'll be doing my first one tomorrow at the Vancouver Marathon and hopefully I'll be able to cross the finish line in 4:59.59 :).

I hope your first marathon went well! I bet you're sore! If you finished, I hope you did, it's something that will stick with you forever. If your time wasn't what you were hoping for, maybe next time. If theres not going to be a next time, no big deal. You did something 1 tenth of 1 % of the population does! You are soooo cool! Congrats!

    good luck, hubert....

my last one was the la salle bank chicago marathon, approx. 4 wks after 9/11......3hrs/34mins. it's however is known as one of the easiest course in the country.

i m sure you will do fine. make sure to hit the pillow early the nite before, don't forget to CARBO up.....and rely on those rabbits (they are there to help)....lastly, "pace yourself and DO NOT let your bod come to a complete stop/rest".....

I would like to thank everyone for their good wishes! It meant a lot to me, especially when it’s coming from Ferrari owners! Today was a torturous day to say the least but a life changing one. It was absolutely inspiring to see wheelchair athletes, grandmas and grandpas, and the ever elite Kenyans racing.

Lou, thanks for the tidbit, it’s nice to know that you’re part of such a small population. Believe it not, I actually managed to cross the finish line in 4:10.21 beating my goal of 5 hours! Any part below the knee is sore right now and because of it I have to crawl up the stairs :p.

Tom, that’s an amazing time! I carbo-load, had a good nights sleep but didn’t run with the pace bunnies though since they had a system of running of 10 minutes and walking 1 which I found a bit awkward. Apart from that I managed to break a cardinal rule of marathoning: sticking with familiar foods during the race. I bought a whole box of peanut toffee flavored ClifBars because it was cheaper than buying 8 gels and I found out last minute that my tastebuds didn’t like them! Of the 8 bars I brought, I was only able to finish 2 and 8/10s of one. Thankfully the Ultima sports drink at the water stations provided a nice temporary boost!

PimpDaddy, good luck to your wife!

Casey, how was that marathon and what was your time?

    Darth550, thanks!
