I heard a rumor that Lotus will be using an all new accident avoidance system on Grosjeans car in P-1, then testing out new mirrors in P-2, that are reported to be twice the size of the ones Grosjean ran in Korea. There will be nothing new by the Lotus team in P-3. RB will be using a new rev accelerator on Webbers car to prevent the almost immediate slowing on selected turns that he experienced at the Japanese GP. The only other new thing being tested this coming race will be on the McLaren. On Hamiltons car they will be using in P-1, a new Astroturf slicer on the side pods. If it works it could be sold to Mercedes for Hamiltons use next year. Negotiations will depend on the test in P-1 this weekend. .
The rumours suggest 0.2-0.4 a lap pace improvement... that's of course if they can bribe the right people at the airport because customs in India is a bit of a joke.
I hope its more and it needs to be focused on 1 lap improvement for qualy. If not and Red Bull is upfront again it wont matter. Qualy is not the forte of the Ferrari yet. They need FA on pole or on the front row. Then again the tyres need to be mastered and not grain away as well..... This assuming Red Bull are not improving at all or quicker. Ferrari need .5 to run with the Bull consistently. This also assumes Mclaren have not improved. Will be interesting in India for sure.
RB is bringing a computer-graphics upgrade for the in-car cameras. Goal is to make the tires appear as bad as they describe them on the radio.
Ahh, the famous WAF unit!..... May not actually be beyond possible, From Autosport; Sounds to me like all is not well in Renault land. Wonderful news! Cheers, Ian http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/103710
